This role
PayJoy is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Portfolio Analyst – Asset Valuation to join our Portfolio Management team. In this role, you will support the development and maintenance of predictive models related to asset valuation, working closely with senior team members to ensure accuracy in financial data and reporting. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Finance and Risk to contribute to model improvements, help support monthly accounting processes, and assist in analyzing financial data that informs strategic decisions. Your work will directly contribute to PayJoy’s mission to bring finance to the next billion.
Responsibilities
Assist in maintaining and updating the Fair Value (FV) model under the guidance of senior team members.
Support the monthly accounting process by preparing data inputs, checking consistency, and helping reconcile variances in asset valuation.
Contribute to model development efforts by preparing data, testing assumptions, and supporting analyses to improve forecasting accuracy.
Work with Finance and Risk teams to analyze trends in default rates, performance metrics, and capital needs.
Participate in the execution and documentation of backtesting and stress testing efforts to ensure model robustness.
Generate reports and visualizations that summarize model outcomes and key financial insights for broader stakeholders.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline.
Experience (internships or academic projects) involving financial modeling, data analysis, or forecasting is preferred.
SQL and Python are required, and another statistical programming language is a plus.
A basic understanding of asset valuation concepts, forecasting techniques, or accounting principles is desirable.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
Good communication skills and a willingness to learn and work collaboratively across teams.
