About this Payer Partnerships Lead role at Nourish
About Us
Our mission is to improve people’s health by making it easy to live a healthy lifestyle.
Nourish is the country's largest dietitian-led metabolic health clinic. We’re an AI-native digital health system matching patients with 10,000+ Registered Dietitians, physicians, medications, lab testing, and AI agents to deliver insurance-covered care across all 50 states. Founded four years ago, we've completed millions of appointments, tripled year-over-year, and partnered with health plans covering 200M+ Americans across 250+ health systems.
In 2026 we raised a $100M Series C, bringing total funding to $215M. The round was led by Menlo Ventures, with participation from Thrive Capital, Index Ventures, J.P. Morgan Growth Equity Partners, Maverick Ventures, Y Combinator, BoxGroup, Atomico, Daybreak, and Operator Partners.

This is not a job for everyone. We hold an extremely high bar because we believe talent density is our biggest competitive advantage. We're looking for people who actively choose hard, ambiguous problems, who run toward unglamorous work, give and receive candid feedback, and bring relentless resilience without the ego. Our work is important, but we are not self-important. We do this because we’re solving one of the hardest problems in the world, and the problem matters. If that's you, we disproportionately reward it.
About the Role
As Payer Partnerships Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategy and execution of Nourish’s partnerships with leading health plans. You will be responsible for owning the strategy and business development process end to end with the country’s top payers, designing and closing value-based deals and fostering close relationships with health plan executives. Your work will shape the future of Nourish as you designing innovative partnerships that expand access for nutrition therapy and deepen our impact on patients.
This role is full-time and open to NYC-based candidates only (expectation to work in-person 3-4 days per week, with some remote flexibility). Our office is in the heart of Flatiron. Occasional travel expected (e.g. to conferences, priority payer meetings, etc.)
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a revenue generating book of top health plans - be the single point owner for 5-10 health plan relationships, defining the strategy and partnership playbook for each plan and executing against that strategy to help us expand access, increase rates, and build strategic, long-lasting relationships
- Design and drive our health plan strategy – define our partnership strategy and lead end-to-end relationships with top health plans. Shape engagement approaches, structure game-changing deals, and be the face of Nourish to your health plan partners
- Build trusted executive networks – develop deep, strategic partnerships with payer leaders. Create champions who will advocate for Nourish internally, unlocking influence and momentum across complex organizations
- Design & close transformative deals – craft and negotiate innovative agreements, including value-based care models. Push beyond status quo contracting to secure deals that expand access and align with Nourish’s long-term growth vision.
- Tell a powerful story – adapt and deliver Nourish’s value proposition compellingly to VP and C-suite audiences, tailoring every conversation to resonate with each payer’s unique priorities and challenges.
- Bring the ‘voice of the payer’ to our team – share and translate commercial, real-time insights to inform our product, clinical, and growth strategy. Partner cross-functionally to translate payer feedback into bold strategic moves, including new products.
We’d love to hear from you if:
- You have 3-5 years of experience in highly strategic roles (e.g. management consulting, business operations) — extra points if you have commercial/go-to-market experience or healthcare/payer knowledge, but not a must
- You’re energized by 0→1 work and ambiguity, and enjoy stepping into undefined spaces to build structure, momentum, and clarity where none exists.
- You’re a strategic thinker who values speed and learning, comfortable testing ideas, iterating based on signal, and evolving your approach over time.
- You have a strong commercial mindset and executive presence, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and influence VP- and C-suite stakeholders.
- You have experience building strong client relationships — whether in consulting, strategy, partnerships, GTM, or a high-growth startup environment — and are comfortable representing a company externally.
- You’re operationally excellent, able to manage a high volume of moving pieces and competing priorities with strong attention to detail, while still maintaining momentum and clarity in a fast-paced environment.
- You’re highly collaborative and cross-functional, able to work effectively across partnerships, growth, product, clinical, and operations teams to drive impact.
