Reporting to: Functional Engineering Lead – HROC

Job Purpose:

In this role, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing major maintenance outages across multiple cement plants within a designated region led and coordinated by area CCC.

Based in a central location, you will collaborate closely with plant teams, CCC specialists, procurement, vendors, and contractors to plan and execute outage activities efficiently, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal resource utilization. This role requires regular travel to plant sites during outage preparation and execution, including longer stays at plant.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Develop annual maintenance outage plans including scope definition, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation including HM plants internal experts / supervisors if needed.
  • Analyze historical data and equipment performance to optimize outage duration and reduce production losses
  • Make sure all tasks inputs (Inspections, RCFA, OpEx audits etc ) are planned into the shutdown.
  • Prepare and ensure that work orders in SAP (PM04) are prepared properly - ready for execution.
  • Coordinate outage timing across plants with regional teams
  • Ensure timely availability of workforce, contractors, equipment, and materials; Monitor resource utilization and resolve constraints or conflicts.
  • Act as the primary contact for outage execution, Manage timelines, milestones, and deliverables; Conduct progress meetings and communicate status updates
  • Identify and mitigate risks proactively
  • Support contractor selection with procurement teams
  • Enforce safety and quality standards ; Monitor contractor performance and contract compliance
  • Develop and manage outage budgets; Track expenditures and ensure compliance with approved limits
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Facilitate coordination between plant teams, maintenance, contractors, and stakeholders; Provide regular status updates and milestone tracking
  • Analyze outage KPIs and performance metrics; Implement best practices and improvement initiatives
  • Collect feedback and enhance planning and execution processes
  • Maintain accurate outage documentation, work orders, and safety procedures
  • Be on-site before the shutdown for preparation and during the shutdown - actively be part of shutdown as the responsible outage planner
  • Do contractor evaluation in co-ordination with plant team and make sure right improvement actions are taken.
  • Prepare SD report with lessons learned and follow-up of action plan from lessons learned.
  • Support implementation of maintenance and planning programs across sites

Job Qualifications, Requirements & Experience:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum 8 years experience in project management and/or maintenance planning in cement.
  • Strong knowledge of outage planning and project management methodologies
  • Proficiency in MS Project and scheduling/resource planning tools
  • Strong working knowledge in SAP PM
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects under pressure
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to Coach & Train the plant counter parts
  • Ability to communicate fluently and effectively with international stakeholders in English. French and German language skills are of an advantage
  • Willingness to extensive travelling abroad including longer stays at plants.
  • Familiarity with cement manufacturing processes is preferred
