About this Role:

As the Jenni Kayne NY Metro Area Manager, reporting to the Director of Stores, you will serve as the key field leader for our New York metropolitan market. You will drive business performance, develop high-performing store teams, and ensure operational excellence while delivering an elevated client experience that reflects the Jenni Kayne brand.

This is a 100% field-based role, with your time spent traveling between and working directly within stores across the NY Metro area. Success in this position comes from being present in the business—coaching teams on the floor, developing leaders, engaging with clients, evaluating execution, and identifying opportunities in real time.

This role is ideal for a hands-on retail leader who thrives in stores, enjoys developing high-performing teams, and is passionate about building a strong market through exceptional leadership, operational excellence, and an elevated client experience.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary leader and culture carrier for Jenni Kayne stores throughout the New York metropolitan area.
  • Maintain a consistent and highly visible presence across the market, spending 100% of working time in the field and traveling between stores based on business priorities and market needs.
  • Drive store performance by achieving monthly and annual sales goals while ensuring operational excellence across all locations.
  • Develop Store Managers and store teams while building succession plans and cultivating a strong leadership bench across the market.
  • Partner closely with Store Managers to analyze business trends, identify opportunities, and develop actionable strategies using key performance indicators and reporting.
  • Hold leaders and teams accountable through consistent coaching, performance management, and a business growth mindset.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, recognition, and continuous development by providing timely feedback, celebrating wins, and creating clear action plans that drive individual, store, and market performance.
  • Conduct regular store visits, business reviews, and one-on-one touchbases with Store Managers to support business performance, leadership development, and execution.
  • Coach from the sales floor, working alongside teams to identify opportunities within selling behaviors, client engagement, product knowledge, conversion, clienteling, and overall store performance.
  • Lead the execution of company initiatives, product launches, operational updates, and training while ensuring consistent execution across all stores within the market.
  • Partner with Visual Merchandising to maintain brand standards, storytelling, and visual consistency throughout the market.
  • Conduct routine store audits and provide coaching to elevate visual presentation, operational execution, inventory management, and the overall client experience.
  • Take an active role in onboarding, developing, and mentoring new Store Managers and field leaders to ensure long-term success.
  • Partner with Human Resources on employee relations, coaching documentation, performance management, corrective action, and talent development.
  • Build and maintain a strong talent pipeline through recruiting, networking, succession planning, and internal talent development to support current and future business needs across the market.
  • Support new store openings and pop-up activations by ensuring teams are prepared through hiring, training, merchandising, operational readiness, and successful market launches.
  • Develop a deep understanding of each local market and partner with Store Managers to drive community engagement, local partnerships, client events, and networking opportunities that increase brand awareness and business growth.
  • Champion an elevated client experience by identifying opportunities to strengthen client engagement, retention, loyalty, and high-value client relationships across the market.
  • Communicate regularly with senior Retail leadership regarding business performance, talent, field insights, and opportunities within the market.
  • Own the overall health and performance of the New York market, leading with an entrepreneurial mindset while creating a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of multi-unit retail leadership experience.
  • Proven track record of driving business performance while developing high-performing teams.
  • Demonstrated success coaching, developing, and retaining top retail talent.
  • Demonstrated success building talent pipelines through recruiting, networking, succession planning, and internal development.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and retail reporting systems.
  • Ability and willingness to work 100% in the field, traveling independently between Jenni Kayne stores throughout the New York metropolitan area.
  • Ability to adjust store presence and travel based on business performance, leadership needs, events, launches, and other market priorities.
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
