About the role
 

The selected candidate will contribute to large-scale infrastructure projects such as the Dubai–Abu Dhabi High-Speed Railway corridors and Dubai Strategic Sewer Tunnel works. Responsibilities include designing structures. (e.g., tunnel sections, cross-passages, cut-and-cover structures, launching/retrieval shafts), coordinating BIM team, check the developed drawings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop structural designs for shafts, tunnel and associated underground structures

• Perform structural analysis and design of mainly reinforced concrete, steel for underground structural elements in accordance with euro codes and project specifications

• Develop design calculations, technical reports, specifications, and help to develop construction drawings

• Design both permanent and temporary underground support systems, including shaft walls, excavation support, and retaining structures

• Carry out numerical analyses for ground–structure interaction, settlement, deformation, and stability

•  Prepare and review engineering calculations, design reports, technical specifications, and design drawings

• Evaluate structural behavior under static, seismic, earth pressure, groundwater, surcharge, and construction loading conditions

About You:

• Minimum 6 years of professional experience in related fields

• Thorough knowledge of Underground Structures. Structural analysis and reinforced concrete design. Finite element analysis (e.g., PLAXIS, Staad Pro, Adsec)

• Candidates with experience in structural designing of underground structures like Shafts, Cut Cover Structures, TBM tunnel and Cross Passages. Candidates must possess a sound understanding of structural behavior, reinforcement detailing, and the requirements of relevant design codes.

• Has an understanding of the local market

• High level communication skills

• Knowledge of relevant laws
