enior Mechanical / Materials Engineer – High Environmental Stress

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical / Materials Engineer to develop and deliver engineering solutions for products operating in high environmental heavy conditions. In this role, you will design, test, and optimize hardware solutions to ensure high performance, reliability, and durability in aggressive environments. You will collaborate closely with global, cross‑functional teams and contribute to innovation across the full product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement mechanical and/or materials engineering solutions from concept through product release, with a strong focus on reliability in high‑stress environments (high humidity, temperature, corrosive atmospheres, VOCs, etc.).

  • Design, develop, test, and document systems, subsystems, and components in line with overall product architecture, project goals, and industry standards.

  • Apply the latest technologies, research findings, and design rules to engineering solutions.

  • Translate customer, market, and competitive requirements into effective engineering designs using an outside‑in approach.

  • Collaborate with global competence communities and Research organizations to stay at the forefront of technical innovation and breakthroughs.

  • Define specifications, design and validate (sub)systems and components based on product requirements.

  • Drive IP creation and protection (patents, trade secrets, copyrights).

  • Prepare, update, and maintain development reports and project deliverables.

  • Provide coaching and mentoring to support knowledge sharing and skill development within the team.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical field.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in developing industrial products or equipment for high environmental heavy applications, ideally within:

    • Chemical

    • Petrochemical

    • Metallurgy

    • Marine

  • Strong expertise in materials selection for chemical corrosion resistance (metals, plastics, seals, protective coatings).

  • Ability to assess material interactions and risks in aggressive environments and select appropriate engineering solutions.

  • Hands‑on experience with risk assessment and reliability design for harsh operating conditions.

  • Experience with ATEX‑certified products is a strong advantage.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to transfer knowledge effectively.

  • Fluent English (spoken and written).
