About the job
Job Description:
We're looking for someone with 2+ years' experience in ecommerce, marketplaces, partnerships, or technology who wants their next move to directly fuel business growth. If that's you, Pattern wants to meet you.
Pattern is the leader in global ecommerce and marketplace acceleration, headquartered in Utah's Silicon Slopes tech hub, with offices in Asia, Australia, Europe, and the Middle East. Hundreds of global brands depend on Pattern's ecommerce acceleration platform to enhance their online sales across direct-to-consumer websites, online marketplaces, and other digital channels.
The Marketing Assistant is an externally-facing role on our Melbourne team, responsible for our lead generation activity. Just as importantly, you'll represent the Pattern brand, both to prospective client brands and inside our own office. This full-time, hybrid role is based in our Melbourne, Australia office.
What is a day in the life of a Marketing Assistant?
Lead Generation (your #1 KPI):
-
Own and report on lead generation activity across events, webinars, content, and email, with every campaign building Pattern's pipeline of prospect brands.
-
Track MQLs, meeting bookings, and conversion through the funnel, and flag what's working so we can double down on it.
-
Partner with the sales and partnerships teams to make sure leads generated through marketing activity are handed off cleanly and followed up.
-
Represent Pattern in its best light every day. You're often the first impression a prospect brand has of us, at events, in webinars, and in outreach.
-
Help our office present well to visiting guests, clients, and candidates, from how the space looks to how the team shows up.
-
Sit on Pattern's business social committee, helping plan the internal moments that build team culture and engagement.
-
Keep the team informed and proud of what we're building and winning externally.
-
Assist with planning and executing B2B events, including sourcing venues and coordinating logistics.
-
Support event promotion through email marketing, social media, and partner outreach.
-
Attend events as a company representative, networking and showcasing our agency and marketplace service offerings.
-
Collaborate with the team to brainstorm webinar topics and create presentation materials.
-
Promote webinars through digital channels, ensuring maximum reach and engagement.
-
Manage webinar logistics, including registrations and post-event follow-ups.
-
Support the creation of content for LinkedIn and Meta (Facebook/Instagram) platforms.
-
Monitor and report on social media engagement and propose strategies to grow our presence.
-
Assist in creating content such as blogs, case studies, and whitepapers that positions Pattern as an industry leader.
-
Help maintain and grow the B2B email marketing database, and support campaigns built for lead generation and event promotion.
-
Collaborate with our external PR agency to ensure alignment with key messaging.
-
Assist in writing and submitting award applications and tracking media coverage.

-
A proactive and organised mindset, with strong attention to detail and time management skills.
-
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
-
Familiarity with social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook/Instagram) and a passion for content creation.

What does high performance look like?
We hold ourselves to Pattern's Leadership Principles. For this role, that shows up day to day as:
-
Plan. Track. Win.: you know your lead-gen numbers cold and can explain in one sentence how your work moves them.
-
Fuel Positivity: you bring energy into the room, whether that's an internal team meeting or a prospect-facing event.
-
Be Real. Be You.: you're comfortable being yourself in front of clients and colleagues alike, and you treat everyone with the same respect and candour regardless of title.
-
Pull the Thread , you ask good questions, seek out the "why" behind a campaign or a request, and aren't afraid to challenge the status quo respectfully.
-
A 100% commitment to all tasks and projects, and consistent, measurable growth in leads and pipeline contribution quarter over quarter.
What is my potential for career growth?
This role gives you a strong foundation in Pattern's broader marketing and ecommerce function. As you build a track record of lead-gen results and brand representation, you'll have the opportunity to specialise into event marketing, content, or partnerships, taking on more senior, prospect-facing responsibility within Pattern's marketing team.
What does success look like in the first 30, 60, 90 days?
First 30 days: Complete induction, meet key stakeholders across the business, understand how each team operates, and shadow existing lead generation and event activity.
First 60 days: Take ownership of specific campaigns and events end-to-end, and start contributing directly to lead-gen reporting and the prospect pipeline.
First 90 days: Be a full, visible contributor to Pattern's lead-generation KPIs, represent Pattern confidently at an external event or webinar, and be an active, positive presence in our internal culture and social committee.
What is the team like?
You'll report directly to the Sydney-based Director of Marketing, with a dotted line into Pattern ANZ's Melbourne-based Managing Director. You will work alongside other marketing and ecommerce professionals across the globe. This team is data-driven and results-oriented, and you'll regularly collaborate with local team members to drive B2B lead generation and brand awareness. We value ideas and input from every team member.
