SUMMARY:

The Transformation Manager is responsible for leading and executing strategic transformation initiatives across the pharmaceutical packaging organization. This role partners with business leaders to deliver projects that improve operational performance, compliance, digital capabilities, and scalability. The position supports the Transformation Office by providing project leadership, portfolio governance, change management, performance reporting, and execution discipline across enterprise initiatives.

This role requires a manager who is relentless in execution, decisive in action, and uncompromising to deliver within scope, and in compliance with regulatory and quality requirements. This position works extensively with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Engineering, IT, Client Services, and Commercial teams.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Project Leadership & Execution

  • Lead medium to large-scale transformation projects from initiation through closure.
  • Develop project charters, business cases, project plans, resource plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Manage project scope, risks, issues, dependencies, and change controls.
  • Facilitate cross-functional project teams to ensure successful delivery of business objectives.
  • Drive project execution while ensuring alignment with corporate strategy and transformation goals.
  • Monitor project performance and implement corrective actions when needed.
  • Support driving projects to conclusion and help identify / resolve project bottlenecks

Transformation Office Governance

  • Support implementation and maintenance of Transformation Office methodologies, standards, tools, and processes.
  • Maintain portfolio dashboards and project reporting mechanisms.
  • Ensure adherence to governance requirements, escalation procedures, and reporting standards.
  • Assist in prioritization and resource allocation activities across the transformation portfolio.

Performance Monitoring & Reporting

  • Track key project performance indicators including schedule, cost, scope, quality, and value realization.
  • Analyze project and portfolio performance trends.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations to leadership regarding project priorities and risks.
  • Support financial tracking and benefits realization efforts.

Risk Management & Compliance

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks.
  • Facilitate issue resolution and escalation management.
  • Ensure project activities comply with GMP, FDA, data integrity, validation, and internal quality requirements.
  • Maintain complete and accurate project documentation.

Change Management & Organizational Adoption

  • Support organizational change management activities associated with transformation initiatives.
  • Develop and help drive stakeholder engagement and communication plans.
  • Facilitate training, adoption, and readiness activities.
  • Support relentless drive of accountability for action items and project deliverables.
  • Assist business functions during implementation and stabilization periods.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

N/A

PREFERRED / REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, Business, Information Technology, or related field required.
  • PMP Certification preferred.
  • 7–10 years of project management, PMO, transformation, operations, engineering, quality, or supply chain experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience leading cross-functional projects in a regulated environment.
  • Experience within pharmaceutical manufacturing, packaging, medical device, biotechnology, or other regulated industries preferred.

The primary work environment is a professional, climate-controlled office setting. While the role is largely desk-based, the employee will occasionally enter production areas. In these spaces, strict adherence to FDA-regulated Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) is required to prevent product contamination and personal safety; this includes following specific gowning protocols such as wearing lab coats, hair nets, shoe covers, and, as necessary, masks or gloves.
