Job description:

Structural Manager with 15+ years of experience with thorough knowledge of Civil & Structural design and Engineering techniques. Responsible to perform Structural calculations independently, Lead projects & deliver good quality reports and drawings. Responsible to plan & conduct independent work requiring judgement in evaluation, selection, application and compliance to codes, standards, specifications, and criteria. Devise new approaches to structural engineering problems and arrive workable solutions within budgeted hours and resources. Through professional communication skills, should be able to work with other engineering disciplines, sometimes across multiple offices.

Education: 

Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering (or) Master Degree in Structural Engineering from Reputed Institution or University with Academic Excellence.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience leading and managing Structural engineering teams with 15-20 years of industry experience.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.

  • Strong knowledge of load calculation, structural analysis, sizing, design codes, and best practices.

  • Civil & Structural Engineering experience in the Industrial domains such as Oil & Gas or Petrochemical Industry or Power Plants or Food & Beverages/ Pharma/ Semi-Conductor plant or other Industrial projects is preferred with a varied range of project execution.

  • Strong FEED and detailed design experience in steel & concrete structures, and different foundation systems.

  • Working knowledge on typical American codes such as IBC, ASCE, AISC and ACI.

  • Sound knowledge of structural calculation software such as STAAD, RISA3D, RISA FOUNDATION, RISA CONNECTION, LPILE etc.

  • Structural Calculation Experience in Green field, retrofitting & modifications projects.

  • Capable of reading and interpreting geotechnical reports.  

  • Strong interpersonal leadership skills are essential for effective communication of complex issues across multiple offices and teams.

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver projects on schedule and within budget

  • US project experience is desirable.

Tool Knowledge:

STAAD, RISA3D, RISA FOUNDATION, RISA CONNECTION, LPILE etc.

Typical Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Lead and manage the structural engineering team including recruitment, allocation, and retention.

  • Maintain a high-performing, motivated structural engineering team.

  • Provide technical mentorship and guidance to team.

  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation.

  • Review and approve structural designs, calculations, and deliverables.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client specifications.

  • Civil/ Structural Calculations & Report Preparation.

  • Provide drawings for own designs & produce sketches to incorporate into the drawings by Designers. 

  • Coordinate with other disciplines (Electrical, Mechanical, Architecture) for integrated delivery.

  • Handle, draft, organize, store and retrieve the required inputs and outputs of the structural deliverables. ​
