About the role:

We're looking for an experienced Manager or Senior Manager to join our growing Restructuring & Recovery team in Melbourne. This is an opportunity to work on a diverse range of corporate and personal insolvency engagements while leading, mentoring and developing talented professionals in a collaborative and supportive environment.

As a trusted advisor to clients and stakeholders, you'll play a key role in managing complex engagements, driving outcomes, and contributing to the continued success and growth of the division.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing and coordinating corporate and personal insolvency engagements from commencement through to completion

  • Providing specialist restructuring and insolvency advice to clients and colleagues across the firm

  • Planning and allocating work across engagement teams, ensuring effective utilisation of resources

  • Overseeing statutory compliance requirements and critical deadlines

  • Applying a strong understanding of insolvency legislation, case law and regulatory obligations

  • Managing asset realisations and stakeholder communications

  • Conducting interviews with directors, bankrupts and other relevant stakeholders

  • Liaising with financiers, legal advisors, agents and auctioneers

  • Preparing and reviewing formal reports, correspondence and stakeholder communications

  • Reviewing detailed financial analysis, investigations and reporting outputs

  • Managing, coaching and developing junior team members

  • Sharing technical expertise and industry insights across the team

  • Identifying and resolving complex technical and commercial issues

  • Contributing to business development initiatives and relationship management activities

About you:

You're an experienced restructuring and insolvency professional who thrives on solving complex challenges and delivering practical outcomes for clients. With a strong technical foundation and a commercial mindset, you're comfortable managing a diverse portfolio of engagements while building trusted relationships with clients, stakeholders and colleagues.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

Essential

  • A Business, Commerce or Accounting degree

  • CA qualification (or equivalent), or a Law degree with a demonstrated interest in insolvency

  • Completion of the ARITA Insolvency Education Program

  • Minimum 5 years' experience within Professional Services, ideally in restructuring and insolvency

  • Previous experience leading, mentoring and developing team members

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • High attention to detail and commercial acumen

  • Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Desirable

  • Business development and client relationship management experience

  • Established professional networks within the Melbourne market
