About this role
The Grant Thornton Outsourced CFO Services team sits within our national Private Enterprise practice, partnering with dynamic mid-market clients to elevate their finance capability, deliver commercial insights and drive business performance.
As a Manager, you will work closely with senior leaders, including our national Outsourced CFO Partner group, who advise clients across sectors on strategic finance uplift, board reporting, cash flow optimisation, preparing forecasts and end-to-end finance transformation.
Recent engagements include: designing scalable finance functions for high-growth businesses, forecasting and budgeting for investment decisions, setting up management reporting, and providing CFO-level insights to clients based on deliverables.
This is a key growth role in an established, but expanding service offering, based in either Sydney or Melbourne.
Key responsibilities
Prepare forecasts, including budgets and three-way models
Work with Partners to present insights to clients
Build commercial dashboards and drive data‑led decisions
Assist Partners with finance system design and transformation
Strengthen client relationships and identify growth opportunities
Support business development and expand the service offering
Skills and experience
Required
Qualification(s) in a relevant discipline such as Business / Commerce, Accounting or Finance, or other relevant professional or overseas qualification(s)
CA / CPA qualified, or other relevant industry accreditation(s)
Significant professional services experience (at least 5 – 8 years), ideally in Business Services with Outsourced CFO capability
Confident presenting to business owners, management teams, and other key stakeholders
Passionate about client accounting, information systems, and reporting tools
Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, including intermediate to advanced Excel skills
Desirable
Finance or Finance Business Partner experience in a commercial setting
Exposure to / Proficiency in Power BI and AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot
