TITLE:  Manager, Data Migration & Integrations

REPORTS TO:  Chief Technology Officer

LOCATION:  Hybrid in Denver, CO

EMPLOYMENT TYPE:  Full-Time, Exempt Employee

Career Team is seeking a Manager, Data Migration & Integrations to lead the people, processes, client relationships, and technical strategy behind data conversions and system integrations.

You will manage a team responsible for moving structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data into Career Edge from legacy systems, databases, flat files, documents, and third-party platforms. You will own conversion initiatives from discovery and planning through validation, launch, and post-conversion support.

You will also serve as a primary point of accountability for clients throughout the conversion lifecycle. This includes building trusted relationships, setting expectations, presenting progress and risks to client stakeholders, and leading the response when issues require escalation.

This is a technical leadership and delivery role—not a primary coding position. You should be comfortable evaluating technical approaches, guiding engineers, interpreting data, and troubleshooting escalated issues. Your primary focus will be leading the team, managing client relationships, ensuring delivery quality, and keeping complex conversion initiatives moving forward.

Specifically, What You Will Do
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of data conversion engineers, integration specialists, and other technical contributors.
  • Establish clear priorities, accountability, and delivery expectations across the conversion team.
  • Own multiple client conversion and integration projects from initial discovery through production launch and post-launch support.
  • Serve as a trusted delivery partner and primary escalation point for client stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships by communicating clearly, setting realistic expectations, and following through on commitments.
  • Lead recurring client meetings, conversion-readiness reviews, executive updates, and technical discussions.
  • Present project status, milestones, risks, decisions, and recommended actions to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Establish project scope, delivery schedules, staffing plans, dependencies, and acceptance criteria.
  • Partner with clients and internal teams to understand source systems, business rules, reporting requirements, and data-quality expectations.
  • Translate business requirements into clear data mappings, transformation rules, validation plans, and technical work items.
  • Guide the design of ingestion and conversion solutions involving databases, APIs, JSON, XML, CSV files, documents, OCR, and other data sources.
  • Review technical approaches for accuracy, scalability, security, maintainability, and alignment with platform standards.
  • Coordinate conversion rehearsals, reconciliation, cutover planning, production migration, and post-launch verification.
  • Identify delivery risks, data-quality concerns, scope changes, and technical dependencies early.
  • Own escalation management by coordinating investigation, establishing clear ownership, communicating impact, and driving issues through resolution.
  • Maintain calm, transparent communication during high-priority incidents and provide clients with appropriate recovery plans and follow-up.
  • Balance client expectations with technical constraints, contractual commitments, security requirements, and team capacity.
  • Establish repeatable standards, templates, runbooks, and quality controls for conversion and integration work.
  • Monitor delivery metrics such as conversion accuracy, defect rates, processing time, first-pass success, and on-time completion.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, performance management, and professional development for team members.
  • Continuously improve the team’s delivery practices, client experience, and operational effectiveness.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications
  • Five or more years of experience in data migration, data integration, ETL, software implementation, or technical delivery.
  • Two or more years of experience leading technical teams, projects, or programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead people, establish accountability, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Experience owning client relationships during complex technical implementations or enterprise migrations.
  • Confidence presenting project updates, risks, recommendations, and technical concepts to client leaders and executive stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated success managing escalations, coordinating cross-functional responses, and restoring client confidence.
  • Strong understanding of data mapping, transformation, normalization, validation, reconciliation, and exception handling.
  • Working knowledge of databases, APIs, and common data formats such as JSON, XML, and CSV.
  • Technical familiarity with MongoDB, SQL, Node.js, TypeScript, NestJS, or comparable technologies.
  • Ability to evaluate technical designs and troubleshoot data issues without serving as the team’s primary software developer.
  • Experience estimating work, managing competing priorities, tracking risks, and communicating delivery status.
  • Strong judgment, diplomacy, and communication skills—particularly when navigating ambiguity, changing requirements, or high-pressure situations.
  • Experience managing sensitive, confidential, or regulated data.
What Success Looks Like

During your first year, you will:
  • Build a capable and accountable conversion team with clear roles, priorities, and performance expectations.
  • Establish a predictable and transparent conversion-delivery process.
  • Become a trusted partner to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide clear, confident updates on progress, readiness, risks, and decisions.
  • Establish an effective escalation process with clear ownership, timely communication, and documented resolution.
  • Improve conversion accuracy and reduce post-launch data defects.
  • Strengthen collaboration among clients, engineering, product, and implementation teams.
  • Increase client confidence in Career Team’s ability to deliver complex migrations successfully.
