Responsibilities
Lead the maintenance department in achieving safety, quality, reliability, and cost-performance objectives that support plant and business goals.
Develop and execute maintenance and asset management strategies that improve equipment performance and long-term facility reliability.
Manage the annual maintenance budget, including labor, materials, capital expenditures, and departmental resources.
Monitor departmental performance through key metrics and implement actions that improve operational results and resource effectiveness.
Maintain a visible daily presence within the operation and on the production floor to support employees, address operational challenges, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
Lead, coach, and develop maintenance team members while fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous learning.
Oversee workforce planning activities, including staffing, succession planning, and talent development.
Partner with Operations, Quality, Safety, Engineering, and other functional leaders to align maintenance priorities with organizational goals and customer needs.
Direct preventive and predictive maintenance programs that maximize equipment reliability and optimize maintenance resources.
Lead capital and expense projects related to equipment upgrades, facility improvements, and operational enhancements.
Champion continuous improvement initiatives that enhance performance, reduce costs, and strengthen overall operational effectiveness.
Serve as a steward of Printpack's culture, resources, and assets, promoting collaboration, inclusion, and responsible decision-making.
Minimum Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and manage a team, preferably within a maintenance, manufacturing, or technical operations environment.
Demonstrated willingness to remain actively engaged in daily maintenance operations while balancing leadership, administrative, and strategic responsibilities.
Exceptional ability to manage multiple priorities, coordinate resources, and adapt to changing operational demands in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build productive relationships and communicate effectively across all levels, both verbally and in writing.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to think creatively and implement practical solutions in dynamic operational environments.
Ability to work cross-functionally with production, engineering, and other departments
Knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards
Ability to work flexible hours, including off-shifts or weekends, as needed
Technical Qualifications
Working knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical systems in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices and programs
Understanding of maintenance-related safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and other applicable standards
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, or equipment manuals
Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
Knowledge of work order management and maintenance scheduling processes
Basic understanding of budgeting and cost management for a maintenance department
Preferred Qualifications
Experience leading or supervising employees in a manufacturing, maintenance, technical, military, construction, or industrial environment.
Exposure to Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles, including Preventive Maintenance (PM), Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Predictive Maintenance (PdM), or similar reliability-focused practices.
Experience participating in or leading facility, equipment, or capital improvement projects.
Knowledge of maintenance planning, asset management, engineering, or process improvement methodologies.
Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) used for work order management, inventory control, purchasing, and preventive maintenance scheduling.
Experience collaborating across operations, engineering, quality, safety, and other functional teams to achieve business objectives.
Ability to analyze problems, evaluate data, and develop practical solutions that improve operational performance.
Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, or industrial systems and associated safety practices.
Experience interpreting technical drawings, layouts, schematics, or facility plans.
Demonstrated success taking on increasing levels of responsibility and influencing positive outcomes through initiative, accountability, and leadership.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the facility for extended periods
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, temperature variations, and moving equipment
Ability to climb ladders, bend, stoop, and reach as needed
Internal Candidate:
Must be in current position for a minimum of 120 days
Must have 'Solid Performer' or higher rating on last performance review
Must currently have a satisfactory performance and safety record
Must not be on a Performance Improvement Plan or Final Warning
