The Logistics Specialist role is based at West Wharf Blending Plant and it involves working in shifts to ensure efficient distribution operations by managing inventory, coordinating deliveries, and optimizing fleet costs. The role enforces HSE compliance, oversees warehouse activities, and supports continuous improvement initiatives. Strong collaboration, analytical skills and proficiency in SAP and Power BI are essential for success for this role
Key Responsibilities
Inventory & Warehouse Management
Coordinate with the Planning team for Distribution Resource Planning
Ensure proper control and handling of Finished Products
Perform daily stock reconciliation at all warehouses
Oversee warehouse operations and implement best practices
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency
Contractor’s Fleet & Cost Optimization
Liaise with suppliers for daily dispatches and coordinate with contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective fleet operations
Collaborate with internal teams such as Operations, Planning and Procurement to optimize transportation costs and improve overall efficiency
Monitor contractor performance and implement strategies for cost reduction without compromising service quality
Customer Handling and sales support
Coordinate with internal and external customers for product deliveries
Address and resolve customer issues promptly and satisfactorily
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Responsibilities
Ensure all operations comply with HSE and Operational Excellence (OE)
Enforce adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards
Oversee forklift operations and vehicle movements
Provide training sessions for staff on basic HSE principles
Performance Monitoring
Track key KPIs such as On-Time In-Full (OTIF), cost per shipment, productivity, and timeliness of deliveries
Analyse logistics data to identify inefficiencies and implement corrective actions for continuous improvement
Selection Criteria
Graduation in Business Management, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field (preferred)
At least 5 years of experience in logistics or supply chain operations
Strong knowledge of SAP, MS Office Applications especially MS Excel, MS Power BI, and inventory management systems
Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
