Action seeks an on-site Loading Dock / Access Control Associate to join our team at Azzurra in Marina del Rey, California. 
 
Schedule: Monday - Friday from 7:30 a.m.- 4:00 pm; occasional Saturdays
 
Compensation: $20-$23/hour

Key Responsibilities

  • Dock Operations:
  • Oversee and coordinate all loading dock activities, including deliveries, pickups, and vendor access.
  • Maintain an organized and efficient schedule for dock usage to prevent congestion.
  • Ensure proper logging of deliveries and resident notifications for package pickups.
  • Customer Service:
  • Serve as the primary contact for residents and vendors regarding loading dock inquiries and issues.
  • Assist residents and delivery personnel with unloading and handling large items when needed.
  • Communicate effectively with residents about delivery protocols and guidelines.
  • Safety and Security:
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with property regulations to minimize risks.
  • Monitor and control access to the dock area, ensuring only authorized personnel and vehicles enter.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the loading dock to ensure safety and cleanliness.
  • Team Leadership:
  • Train and oversee any additional dock staff or support personnel as required.
  • Provide clear communication to staff, vendors, and residents to maintain an efficient workflow.
  • Maintenance and Organization:
  • Ensure the loading dock is clean, organized, and free of hazards at all times.
  • Coordinate with the maintenance team for equipment repairs and dock upkeep.
  • Manage storage of deliveries awaiting pickup and ensure proper handling of oversized or special deliveries.
  • Administrative Duties:
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, and vendor activities.
  • Prepare reports on dock usage and incidents to keep the Property Manager informed.
  • Assist with developing and updating dock policies and procedures as needed.
  • Qualifications / Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; experience in logistics, facilities management, or property operations is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role managing loading docks or logistics operations.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills with a focus on customer service.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, as required.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and best practices for loading dock operations.
  • Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, and work in an outdoor or semi-outdoor environment for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable working in high-traffic areas with vehicles and equipment.
