Partner with the best

As a Lead Manufacturing Engineer – Composite Manufacturing & Technology Transfer, you will be responsible for establishing a sustainable, scalable, and highly automated piezo composite manufacturing capability. You will lead the development and industrialization of critical manufacturing processes, implement future-ready production technologies, and drive the transfer of key process capabilities from external suppliers into in-house operations.

You will serve as the technical owner of end-to-end manufacturing processes, acting as the primary interface between Waygate Technologies and external manufacturing partners while developing and executing a roadmap for future technology insourcing. Through your leadership, you will help retain and expand critical manufacturing know-how and transform it into a competitive internal manufacturing capability.

As a Lead Manufacturing Engineer – Composite Manufacturing & Technology Transfer, you will also be responsible for:

• Define manufacturing strategies, process flows, equipment requirements, facility needs, and operational infrastructure to support future production demands.

• Serve as the technical authority for piezo ceramic, piezo composite, and related precision manufacturing processes.

• Lead the development, optimization, and industrialization of manufacturing processes focused on scalability, automation, quality, and reduced labor dependency.

• Drive technology transfer initiatives and establish a roadmap for transitioning strategically important manufacturing processes from external suppliers to in-house production.

• Act as the primary technical interface between Waygate Technologies and external manufacturing partners, ensuring alignment on process capability, quality, performance, and continuous improvement.

• Lead equipment selection, specification development, procurement support, installation, commissioning, qualification, validation, and production ramp-up activities.

• Establish robust process controls, manufacturing standards, work instructions, training programs, quality plans, and manufacturing documentation.

• Support manufacturing readiness through process capability development, validation activities, and operational excellence initiatives.

• Collaborate closely with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and external suppliers to ensure successful project execution and business objectives.

• Drive continuous improvement through data-driven decision-making, root cause analysis, process optimization, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.

• Champion manufacturing innovation by evaluating emerging technologies, automation opportunities, robotics solutions, and Smart Factory initiatives.

• Build and sustain critical manufacturing expertise within Waygate Technologies while creating a technology platform that supports future product growth and innovation.

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role, you will:

• Have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Applied Sciences, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

• Have extensive experience in piezo ceramics, piezo composites, semiconductor manufacturing, MEMS, precision manufacturing, or comparable advanced manufacturing environments.

• Have demonstrated experience in manufacturing process development, industrialization, and production scale-up.

• Have strong knowledge of precision dicing, grinding, thin-film technologies, sputtering, plasma processing, metrology, and manufacturing process control methodologies.

• Have experience leading equipment qualification, process validation, commissioning, and continuous manufacturing improvement initiatives.

• Have expertise in structured problem-solving methodologies such as Six Sigma, DOE, SPC, Shainin, Root Cause Analysis, and statistical process improvement techniques.

• Have proven experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and managing stakeholders across Engineering, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and external suppliers.

• Have strong communication, technical leadership, and project execution skills.

• Preferred to have direct experience with ultrasonic transducer manufacturing and piezo composite technologies.

• Preferred to have experience working with DISCO, ACCRETECH, or equivalent precision dicing and grinding equipment platforms.

• Preferred to have experience implementing manufacturing automation, robotics, Industry 4.0, or Smart Factory solutions.

• Preferred to have experience establishing new manufacturing lines or production capabilities from concept development through commercialization and ramp-up.

• Preferred to have knowledge of water treatment, filtration systems, wastewater management, and environmental controls associated with precision ceramic manufacturing.

• Preferred to have experience leading technology transfer, supplier-to-factory industrialization, or manufacturing localization projects.
