About this Lead, Executive Engagement and Field Marketing role at Stepful
About Stepful:
Stepful is a workforce platform redefining how America's largest health systems build, train, and retain their talent. Since our founding in 2021, Stepful’s trained over 32,000 practice-ready healthcare workers.
Layering onto our successful direct-to-consumer training, Stepful partners with leading healthcare institutions to address the growing national shortage of healthcare workers. We’re improving access to quality healthcare for everyone, everywhere, and improving access to healthcare career ladders for those who need them most.
Our students form the talent pipelines for major employers such as NY-Presbyterian, Mt. Sinai, HCA, Providence, CVS, and Walgreens. We have partnerships with half of the top 10 health systems in the US and are in process with many more.
Stepful is backed by Y Combinator, Reach Capital, and AlleyCorp, with a recent $55M Series C led by Oak HC/FT. We were named the #1 EdTech company in the U.S. by TIME for 2025.
Our values:
We credit much of our success to our exceptional team. We’re looking for mission-driven builders who thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments, and embody our four core values:
Care first: We do whatever it takes for our students to succeed.
Learn quickly: We test, learn with data, and iterate.
Build together: We win when we rely on each other.
Own it: We show up, take initiative, and show pride.
The opportunity:
This is a revenue-generation role, not an events-logistics role. You'll own the motion that converts executive relationships and curated in-person moments into pipeline across our highest-priority health system accounts — sitting at the intersection of executive partnerships, account-based marketing, and field marketing, three disciplines that compound when one owner runs them together. You'll inherit our Executive Advisory Board and build our Customer Advisory Board from scratch, then turn both into engines for warm intros, references, and deal support. Success is measured in pipeline sourced or accelerated in tier 1 accounts, stalled accounts re-activated through executive touch, and pipeline per event — not attendance or leads collected.
This role is remote, involves travel to key industry events and reports to the Director, Enterprise Marketing.
What you'll do:
Executive Partnerships
Own the Executive Advisory Board end-to-end: expand membership, run the cadence and agendas, and convert relationships into warm intros, references, and deal support in named accounts
Build and launch a net-new Customer Advisory Board at the practitioner/champion level, feeding signal up to the EAB and giving Account Executives a renewal and expansion asset
Orchestrate executive-to-executive selling — be the person AEs call when a deal needs a peer-level conversation between a Stepful exec and a health system CNO or CHRO
Strategic Account Marketing (Tier 1 ABM)
Partner account-by-account with AEs on tier 1 net-new and expansion accounts: whitespace mapping, exec sponsor mapping, and a defined executive-touch play for each
Use EAB members, personal networks, and exec sponsors as the unlock mechanism for stalled or dark accounts
Experiment with AI tools to sharpen account research, exec mapping, and follow-up workflows — and share what works with the Growth & Marketing team
Field Marketing & Events
Decide which healthcare workforce, nursing education, and health system conferences merit Stepful's presence — filtered by whether tier 1 accounts and their execs will be there
Design high-intimacy activations (dinners, roundtables, speaker sessions featuring Stepful execs or EAB members) over booth-traffic plays, and curate exactly which clients and prospects get a seat
Own post-event follow-through into AE hand-off as a measured outcome, working closely with Revenue Operations on attribution
What you'll bring:
10+ years across field marketing, ABM, executive programs, or enterprise sales/marketing hybrid roles, with direct accountability for sourced or accelerated pipeline
A track record of building or running executive/customer advisory boards and converting them into commercial outcomes
Credibility with C-suite healthcare buyers — you can hold your own in a room with CNOs, CHROs, and health system executives, and represent Stepful externally
Deep instincts for 1:1 and 1:few engagement: you know which relationships to invest in, and you follow through with rigor
Comfort operating with wide latitude in ambiguity — setting your own priorities across interconnected programs and making high-stakes judgment calls on where executive time goes
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
Bonus points if:
You've marketed or sold into health systems, healthcare workforce, or nursing education buyers
You've built a tier 1 ABM or strategic account marketing motion from scratch at a Series B–D startup
You bring an existing network of health system executives
Experience with account intelligence and ABM tooling (e.g., Demandbase, 6sense) or CRM-based pipeline reporting
