Overview:

This opening is for the Digital Engineering Methods, Process, and Adoption (DEMPA) team at Collins Aerospace, where you will play a key role in advancing Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices and driving the adoption of Digital Engineering capabilities. The role requires 7 to 11 years of experience in cyber-physical system modeling and expertise in tools such as Cameo, MATLAB, and Simulink. As a senior contributor, you will lead the implementation of Digital Thread concepts, enabling seamless data integration across the entire product lifecycle to drive innovation, efficiency, and decision-making excellence.

Domain Knowledge & Skills:

  • Extensive experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools, methodologies, and workflows.
  • Proficient in functional and logical decomposition of systems and development of comprehensive requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead the development and transition of document-based architectures to model-based architectures.
  • Proven expertise in implementing model-based architecture and engineering processes, tools, and standards.
  • Strong understanding of Digital Thread principles to facilitate end-to-end system lifecycle integration, collaboration, and traceability.
  • Excellent critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of system architecture and requirement modeling using SysML and tools like Cameo or similar platforms.
  • Strong proficiency in integrating models for requirements management, change management, version control, and traceability, with a focus on best practices.
  • Advanced experience with MATLAB/Simulink and scripting using MATLAB.
  • Familiarity with requirement management and test management tools is a strong advantage.


Basic Qualifications:

  • B.Tech/M.Tech (Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical/Computer Science or Equivalent) with 4-7 years of experience in Systems Engineering.
  • In-depth expertise in modeling, simulation, and analysis of complex systems.
  • Strong background in Verification & Validation processes.
  • Knowledge of ARP 4754, DO-178C, and DO-331 standards is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated leadership in cross-disciplinary teams and projects.


Role & Responsibilities:

  • Lead the understanding and analysis of customer requirements and specifications, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
  • Drive the decomposition of system-level requirements into detailed subsystems and component-level requirements.
  • Act as a key liaison with global stakeholders and project leads to define and implement Requirements and Architecture Modeling using SysML with Cameo.
  • Spearhead the adoption and integration of Digital Thread methodologies to enable efficient, real-time collaboration and lifecycle management.
  • Develop and present high-quality technical and business proposals to drive the adoption of advanced engineering methods.
  • Provide strategic mentoring and technical guidance to junior engineers, fostering skill development and team growth.
  • Take ownership of project execution, ensuring timely delivery within cost, quality, and schedule constraints.
  • Develop and refine Standard Works, Lessons Learned documents, best practices, and checklists to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in MBSE and Digital Engineering, contributing to organizational growth and knowledge dissemination.
