Based in China we are looking for an enthusiastic Acoustics Engineer to join our growing Technology Systems Engineering Team.


About the Role

As  a Senior/Lead Acoustics & Vibration Engineer, you will take ownership of delivering robust acoustics and vibration solutions across the product development lifecycle. You will combine experimental and analytical approaches to diagnose issues, develop solutions, and ensuring reliable and high performance product delivery.

 

  • Own the development and delivery of acoustic and vibration performance throughout product development cycles.
  • Define, capture, and manage acoustics requirements and validation strategies.
  • Apply Dyson methodologies and engineering best practices to deliver solutions on time, on specification, on cost, and on quality. 
  • Develop and implement experimental and/or simulation-based approaches (experimental testing, FEA/CFD/system modelling, etc).
  • Diagnose and resolve acoustic and vibration issues using techniques such as signal analysis, noise source identification, transfer path analysis, etc.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks early, ensuring timely and robust delivery.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to integrate acoustic solutions into product designs.
  • Communicate findings clearly through data-driven insights and technical reviews.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of tools, methodologies and engineering practices.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.

About You

  • Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Mechatronics engineering or similar.
  • Proven experience in product development with strong analytical focus.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical systems and failure analysis.
  • Experience in signal processing and vibration analysis (FFT, FRF, spectrogram, waterfall, etc) is required.
  • Experience in acoustics techniques such as TPA, ODS, noise localisation, psychoacoustics is highly desirable.  
  • Experience with simulation tools (FEA, CFD, or system modelling) and understanding of statistical methods/ Six Sigma tools are preferred.
  • Demonstrate drive, enthusiasm, self-motivation and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
