We are currently looking to hire a Maintenance Mechanic or Electromechanic to provide hands-on support in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation equipment and systems across our field operations and process plant. This role will ensure the achievement of operational targets while maintaining a safe, environmentally compliant, and efficient work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and resolve issues encountered on production equipment efficiently to minimize downtime.
  • Perform troubleshooting and repair tasks on both electrical and mechanical systems, including motors, transformers, and other plant equipment.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance, installation, improvement, and repair activities of plant equipment as required, ensuring accurate maintenance records are kept.
  • Ensure plant and equipment are maintained and operated in line with industry standards and operational requirements.
  • Work closely with the EH&S Officer to ensure safety and environmental compliance across the team.
  • Collaborate with production teams and external vendors for troubleshooting and system diagnostics.
  • Participate in emergency equipment repairs and on-call duties as required.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement activities by suggesting ideas for enhancing system performance and plant efficiency.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

 

Requirements and Skills

  • Diploma in Industrial Mechanics (or equivalent) or relevant work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic, ideally with electromechanical system experience.
  • Experience in manufacturing or food processing industries (preferred).
  • Certification in mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation-related fields.
  • Welding skills would be an asset.
  • Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System), as well as proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), and openness to learning new software tools.
  • Shift Work: Must be available to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Overtime may be required based on operational needs.
  • Ability to lift and handle weights up to 50 lbs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, ingenuity, and the ability to work both autonomously and within a team environment.
  • Safety First mindset with an ability to work in compliance with safety protocols.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License required.
  • Company truck will be provided for travel between work locations.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:

  • Physically demanding work including handling heavy loads, standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, kneeling, and manual dexterity.
  • Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots required.
