About this INTERNAL LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITY: Sanctuary Leader role at Chatterboxes
INTERNAL LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITY: Sanctuary Leader
Help clinicians feel supported, known, and inspired in their work.
- Opportunity: Internal Chatterboxes SLP
- Reports to: Clinical Director
- Clinical Commitment: 25 Billable Hours/Per Week + 5 Days Per Week (M-F)
- Step into a salaried leadership role while continuing to remain connected to clinical practice.
The Opportunity
The Sanctuary Leader is a culture stabilizer, clinical mentor, and steady, visible presence for a group of our clinicians. This leader helps create connection and psychological safety, strengthens clinical practice, and brings warmth, clarity, accountability, and follow-through to the everyday clinician experience.
This is a player-coach role. The Sanctuary Leader remains actively engaged in clinical work while serving as a trusted bridge among clinicians, the Clinical Director, the Founder, and the broader leadership team.
What You Will Do
- Clinical mentorship and excellence
- Maintain an active caseload of approximately 25 billable clinical hours per week so your leadership remains clinically grounded and relatable.
- Provide ongoing mentorship and consultation across the career span, including support for Clinical Fellows, CF mentors, SLPA supervisors, new clinicians, and seasoned SLPs.
- Help clinicians think through complex or stuck cases in a safe, judgment-free space while reinforcing sound clinical judgment and professional accountability.
- Guide clinicians with documentation and compliance, including progress notes, evaluation reports, IEP/IFSP goals, eligibility decisions, assessment selection, and productivity expectations.
- Share evidence-based resources, therapy materials, research, approaches, and continuing education opportunities while ensuring diverse voices and perspectives are represented.
- Connect clinicians with colleagues who hold relevant specialty expertise across Chatterboxes.
- Support ethical practice, scope of competence, and sustainable workload; elevate clinical or wellness concerns to the appropriate leader when needed.
Culture and Team leadership
- Create a consistent, warm team presence through approachable Slack support, casual touchpoints, recognition, invitations to connect, and prepared co-facilitation of team meetings.
- Model Chatterboxes values through everyday professionalism, respect, care, reliability, and communication.
- Serve as a calm communication bridge: bring patterns and concerns to leadership with context, then translate responses back to clinicians clearly and without speculation or escalation.
- Help change feel contained and understandable by explaining what is happening, why it matters, what it means for clinicians, and where support lives.
- Represent the full organization consistently, including when you may personally have approached a decision differently.
- Maintain healthy leadership boundaries by connecting clinicians to the right support rather than becoming the resource for everything.
- Clinician growth and accountability
- Hold a monthly 1:1 with each clinician in your Sanctuary and provide responsive support between meetings.
- Compile and analyze monthly review forms to document progress, contributions, strengths, and clinical efforts that may support merit-based increases.
- Evaluate clinical performance on an ongoing basis and document concerns clearly and promptly when they arise.
- Partner with the Clinical Director on annual reviews and biannual merit-based compensation reviews by contributing grounded observations and team insights.
- Redirect compensation and financial questions to the formal review process, Head of Operations, or Chatterboxes' Financial Empowerment benefit, as appropriate.
Internal Application Process
Interested internal candidates should apply through Workable during the five-business-day application window. Candidates who meet the initial criteria will be invited to complete a brief written leadership project, followed by leadership interviews.
