Intern – Cloud Services

Sysco LABS Sri Lanka delivers the technology that powers Sysco’s end-to-end operations. Sysco LABS’ enterprise technology is present in the end-to-end foodservice journey, enabling the sourcing of food products, merchandising, storage and warehouse operations, order placement and pricing algorithms, the delivery of food and supplies to Sysco’s global network and the in-restaurant dining experience of the end-customer.
Responsibilities:
- Development of Software Tools which help reduce day today workloads. Using technologies such as React. Spring boot, AWS services (Lambda, Code build) Starlett, Python. Google Gemini AI
- Working with DB tools such as MySQL, DynamoDB
- Assist in Windows and Linux server administration (provisioning, configuration, monitoring).
- Support patching operations – applying OS and application updates, testing patches, validating system health.
- Help with patch compliance reporting and tracking vulnerabilities.
- Troubleshoot patching failures and collaborate with engineers to resolve issues.
- Support security hardening activities and compliance audits.
- Maintain clear documentation, runbooks, and patch schedules.
- Gain exposure to cloud-based technologies (AWS Systems Manager, Azure Update Management, AWS, GCP, Azure).
Requirements:
- Pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
- Knowledge of Software Development and technologies such as React. Spring boot, MySQL, DynamoDB, AWS services (Lambda, Code build) Starlett, Python. Google Gemini AI
- Basic knowledge of Windows/Linux server systems and familiarity with patching concepts (updates, hotfixes, vulnerability remediation) will be advantageous.
- Understanding of networking basics (DNS, IP, firewall rules).
- Willingness to learn enterprise-scale patching and systems operations.
