We are seeking an experienced HVAC Service Manager to support our growing San Antonio market. This is a hands on leadership role focused on field operations, technician development, service quality, and customer relationships. The right candidate understands commercial HVAC service, enjoys developing people, and is comfortable balancing the needs of technicians, customers, and the business.
What You’ll Do
• Provide daily leadership and support to commercial HVAC service technicians
• Maintain an active field presence through jobsite visits, technician check ins, and customer meetings
• Coach and develop technicians to strengthen technical performance, communication, and accountability
• Partner with the Director of Service to coordinate workforce priorities, service coverage, and customer needs
• Support technicians with troubleshooting complex service issues and identifying practical solutions
• Ensure service work meets company expectations for safety, quality, documentation, and professionalism
• Build strong customer relationships and respond promptly to service or communication concerns
• Reinforce expectations for work order completion, time reporting, service documentation, and closeout
• Monitor productivity, callbacks, service quality, job performance, and other operational measures
• Partner with Dispatch, Sales, Projects, Safety, and other departments to improve service delivery
• Support recruiting, onboarding, training, performance management, and workforce development
• Participate in after hours escalation and service support as needed
What We’re Looking For
• Three or more years of progressive experience in commercial HVAC service operations
• Previous experience leading, supervising, or mentoring HVAC service technicians
• Strong technical knowledge of commercial HVAC equipment, mechanical systems, controls, and troubleshooting
• Ability to assess field conditions and provide practical technical and operational guidance
• Experience managing customer relationships and resolving service concerns
• Strong communication, organization, problem solving, and decision making skills
• Ability to hold team members accountable while supporting their continued development
• Basic understanding of labor productivity, job performance, and expense awareness
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regularly to customer locations and jobsites
Preferred Qualifications
• Hands on technical trade experience in commercial HVAC service
• Previous experience as a field supervisor, service supervisor, team lead, or service manager
• Experience working with a union workforce
• HVAC license, EPA certification, or other relevant trade certifications
• OSHA 30 certification or the ability to obtain it within six months of hire
• Experience working in a commercial mechanical service environment
This is a full time, exempt position that divides time between the office, customer locations, and active jobsites. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday, with availability between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. and after hours support as needed.
