THE ROLE
Driven by curiosity and a passion for solving complex system challenges? As a Hardware Validation Engineer in our Hyperscale Line of Business (HLOB) Hardware team, you will serve as the critical bridge between core hardware engineering and real-world customer deployments. You will bring up, test, and troubleshoot dynamic server platforms, shaping the reliability of next-generation infrastructure. Working closely with cross-functional software, firmware, and customer-facing teams, you’ll directly impact system stability and platform readiness. If you thrive on methodical problem-solving at the intersection of hardware, Linux, and system architecture, this role offers an exceptional platform to expand your technical impact.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Drive Platform Bring-Up & System Validation: Lead end-to-end bring-up and testing for diverse server platforms and hardware configurations, ensuring robust system reliability before customer deployment.
- Execute Root-Cause Analysis & Technical Diagnostics: Perform deep-dive troubleshooting across hardware, firmware, and Linux system layers to isolate complex failures and deliver actionable engineering recommendations.
- Automate & Optimize Validation Workflows: Design and maintain custom shell scripts and diagnostic tools to streamline testing processes, improve coverage, and accelerate issue resolution.
- Partner Cross-Functionally for Deployment Success: Collaborate directly with internal Hardware, firmware, software, test development teams and external customer and partner teams to resolve technical roadblocks and continuously elevate platform performance.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Systems & Validation Expertise: Practical experience in server validation, system bring-up, lab engineering, or hardware testing environments is a plus.
- Linux Proficiency: Hands-on command of Linux environments—including installation, system configuration, command-line usage, and failure diagnosis using standard tools.
- Analytical Problem-Solving: A structured approach to debugging unfamiliar system behaviors across hardware, OS, and firmware interfaces.
- Scripting & Automation Capabilities: Practical skill in writing and using Bash, Python, or other shell scripts to automate diagnostics and workflow tasks.
- Collaborative Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to document complex diagnostic findings and partner effectively across global engineering teams.
