About this Full Stack Developer - Test-First Engineering (Public Sector) role at Xtremax Pte. Ltd.

This role combines modern full stack engineering with quality engineering practices. You'll work across the entire software development lifecycle—from building new features and backend services to implementing automated testing, improving deployment pipelines, and ensuring software meets accessibility standards. You'll collaborate with product managers, engineers, and cross-functional teams in an agile environment where automation, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence are part of everyday development.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable full stack applications using modern web technologies.
- Build responsive frontend features with React.js and TypeScript while developing backend services with Node.js.
- Champion a test-first engineering culture through comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks using tools such as Playwright, Selenium, and Axe Core.
- Improve software delivery by integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
- Troubleshoot production issues, analyse system behaviour, and resolve complex technical problems.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation including API specifications, architecture documentation, and troubleshooting guides.
- Work closely with Product Management to provide technical support and continuous product improvements.
- Contribute to building accessible digital experiences by applying accessibility best practices and continuously improving platform quality.
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong experience building modern web applications using React.js, TypeScript, and Node.js.
- Good understanding of scalable software architecture and software engineering best practices.
- Hands-on experience with automated testing, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Experience using automation tools such as Playwright, Selenium, Axe Core, or similar frameworks.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
- Passion for delivering high-quality software and continuously improving engineering practices.
Preferred
- Experience implementing or troubleshooting web accessibility (WCAG 2.2).
- Familiarity with assistive technologies including JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, or TalkBack.
- Experience with Docker, Infrastructure as Code, or Bash scripting.
- Knowledge of digital accessibility standards and inclusive design principles.
- Candidates with more than three years of relevant software engineering experience may be considered for senior-level opportunities.
