Job Description

The Frith Housekeeper will have primary responsibility for the cleanliness and organization of the historic Frith residence, with duties including: dusting, cleaning, and upkeep of the entire house and pool house. This position provides assistance and support for the owners for the effective and successful operation of the property and household. The position will also require staff to work weekends and holidays as needed as well as other task as appointed by management and owners. 

A non-smoker would be preferred for this position.

Essential Job Duties

1. Ensure cleanliness and organization of guest and family areas to standard.
2. Maintain bathrooms with a high degree of cleanliness and detail.
3. Dust furniture as trained by management.
4. Maintain all hardwood and tile floors
5. Clean and maintain all furnishings, house interior, and exterior. 

6. Wash, dry, fold, iron (as needed), and put away household laundry, including personal clothing, linens, towels, and other household textiles, while following garment care instructions and maintaining organization of closets and storage areas.

7. Assist with Kitchen surfaces, appliances, and dishes as needed.
8. Emergency/sick clean up (bodily fluids)
9. Constant awareness of safety.
10. Follow and execute the collection care manual.
11. Maintain security and confidentiality. 

Additional Responsibilities

1. Will use appropriate conservation cleaning practices where needed.
2. Actively identifies work/tasks to be done within scope of work.
3. Store, organize, and maintain supplies 

4. Provide daily care for household pets (cats), including maintaining litter boxes, cleaning up pet accidents, replenishing food and water as needed, and helping maintain a clean, healthy environment for the animals.
5.Work in inclement weather, and be at work in inclement weather 
6. Will provide general assistance and support for department as required.
7. Operate mechanical and commercial cleaning equipment.
8. Establishes and maintains a good relationship with owners, leadership and co-workers across departments.

Qualifications

1. High school diploma preferred. Additional training, education, and/or certification (s) preferred. First Aid, CPR, and/or AED certification strongly preferred.
2. Minimum of two to three years experience of related houskeeping or related experience.
3. Demonstrated commitment to delivery of world class internal/external guest service.
4. Outstanding interpersonal and communications skills; conveys information effectively and clearly; ability to interact professionally with internal and external guests; responds positively and enthusiastically to verbal/written instructions.
5. Ability to quickly learn Biltmore culture, procedures and protocols.  
6. Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills; ability to prioritize, multi-task, adapt as needed; keen attention to details; focus on quality and service.
7. Proactive, exercises good judgment; anticipates, addresses, and troubleshoots issues.
8. Reflects company values at all times; maintains discretion and confidentiality.
9. Ability to work in a fast paced dynamic environment

Physical Requirements

1. Must be able to stand, walk, bend, crouch, kneel and reach throughout the day.

2. Must be able to communicate clearly with household residence and staff.
3. Lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally.
4. Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to adjust focus.
5. Primarily working in an indoor setting, but may be exposed to variable temperature conditions indoor and outside (occasionally extreme heat or extreme cold). 
6. Employee must be prepared to respond to emergencies should they occur.
7. Will need to access estate residences and/or historic buildings; ability to climb stairs, and ladders as needed.
8. Travel across the estate, and locally required; must have a valid driver's license.
9. Operates commercial cleaning and other mechanical equipment.
