WPP is on a global transformation journey, and this is an opportunity to join Group HQ Financial Planning & Analysis / Data and Analytics team with a focus on developing FP&A capability, leading analytical assignments, and operating as a subject matter expert and point of contact for financial data analytics and democratisation efforts.
What you'll be doing:
The FP&A Data and Analytics team is responsible for the framework, tooling (current Power BI reporting application support by Databricks Data Warehouse), data architecture, integration, and visualisation.
The Data and Analytics team works in close partnership with Enterprise Data and Finance Systems groups to ensure continuous improvement of financial data consumption and its integration into periodic management reporting and commentary. The Data and Analytics team also leads the delivery of training on Power BI to finance users to ensure optimum benefit from analytics tools.
This role will report into FP&A Senior Manager, Data and Analytics.
- Analytics Platform: support the ongoing development and optimisation of the Group’s analytics platform in Power BI by streamlining and automating back-end and front-end processes
- Monitoring & Optimisation: Monitor alerts around Azure Databricks SQL Warehouse, Azure Data Factory pipelines and data extract processes to ensure data quality. Understand scheduling errors to troubleshoot any issues
- Front-end Development: Take a leading role in the design, build, and deployment of new Power BI dashboards and reports
- Data Integration: work with Enterprise Data and Finance Systems teams to import, transform, and optimize data for the Group’s and Operating Companies’ consumption
- Supporting Documentation: assist in developing comprehensive documentation library about algorithms, parameters, models, and relationships used in the Power BI solution transforming business requirements into technical publications
- User Support: Act as a technical resource to users providing support and resolving technical issues related to the solution
What you'll need:
Minimum requirements for this role include:
- Strong SQL and Python understanding for querying large data sets and performing advanced-level computations
- Understanding of data modelling processes in Azure Databricks & Azure Data Factory
- Strong understanding of design, build, and deploy best practice principles for Power BI dashboards and reports
- Previous exposure to SAP BFC, Hyperion or similar financial consolidation tool
- Strong financial accounting and control skills to study, analyse, and understand business requirements in context of business intelligence systems
- Professional Accounting qualification would be desirable but not a hard requirement
- Analytical thinking for translating raw data into informative reports and meaningful visuals
- Advanced experience with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Power Apps and other Microsoft products
