Hexcel is currently seeking a Floater Operator for our Pottsville, PA, USA location.

The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:

  • This position will provide support and/or machine operations where needed to cover for absences and fluctuations in demand for capacity in any area in the plant. Primary focus will be in the front-end of the business this includes but is not limited to the HOBE Saw, Expanding, Femco Saw and Trim Saw.

  • Must be able to work from production orders and keep an accurate inventory of all Hobe material.

  • Must be able to work from routings and use appropriate measuring tools in determining the “L” and “W” of expanded honeycomb.

  • Must use proper handling techniques and follow the clean glove handling policy. 

  • Must be able to work from production orders and keep an accurate inventory of all Nomex material.

  • Must be capable of using appropriate measuring tools such as micrometer, dial caliper or Vernier caliper.

  • Must be a capable forklift operator.

  • Individual will support team efforts and product process by performing any operation or tasks deemed necessary by customer requirement, team consensus and/or production supervisor.

  • Operates at all times in compliance with Hexcel Pottsville’s Actively Caring Safety Program and Quality Management System. 

  • Comply with Hexcel policies, procedures and code of Business Conduct.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent, required.

  • Minimum of six months experience required, preferably in manufacturing.

  • Must follow all safety guidelines and proper handling techniques.

  • Experience working with handheld scanners, interacting with MRP or inventory control systems, preferred.

  • Must be an active Quality Delegate or be able to pass the requirement to be a Quality Delegate.

  • Must have a Forklift Certification or be able to obtain the forklift certification.

  • Possess good hand dexterity and eye-hand coordination.

  • Basic computer skills – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, required.

  • Works well with all levels of the organization including the ability to communication and interact effectively.
