Fish Technician

Help shape the future of aquaculture through hands-on research support

At BioMar ATC Hirtshals, you will play an important role in supporting R&D trials that contribute to the development of innovative aquaculture solutions. Working close to research activities and fish production systems, you will help ensure that trials are conducted efficiently while maintaining a strong focus on animal wellbeing.

This is a practical and varied role where no two days are exactly the same. You will work alongside colleagues who share a passion for learning, collaboration, and continuous improvement, while contributing directly to research projects that support BioMar's innovation journey.

Make a difference in our research and trial activities

As a Fish Technician, you will contribute to the success of our R&D programmes by providing hands-on support throughout all stages of experimental trials. You will help create an efficient working environment and ensure that fish welfare remains at the forefront of our daily activities.

Working closely with the team, you will support both routine activities and trial-related tasks while contributing to the smooth operation of our recirculated aquaculture systems (RAS).

  • Monitor water quality and oxygen levels to help ensure animal wellbeing
  • Participate in and support fish sampling procedures
  • Assist with the execution of R&D trials
  • Support maintenance and daily operation of recirculated aquaculture systems (RAS)
  • Collect and maintain trial-related data using Microsoft Excel

Must-have requirements

  • Interest in fish and aquaculture
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel
  • Ability to communicate in English at a working level
  • Team-oriented approach and willingness to support colleagues
  • Curiosity and motivation to learn and improve

Nice-to-have qualifications

  • Knowledge of recirculated aquaculture systems (RAS)
  • Previous experience working with fish or aquatic environments
  • Danish language skills
