Job Summary:

Provide field-level oversight and operational support to ensure vegetation management activities are performed in accordance with program requirements. Responsibilities include work verification, quality audits, contractor coordination, outage investigations, customer support, field documentation, and data quality assurance. Provide field support during Storm or Emergency restoration efforts as needed.

Job Description:

  • Conducts field assessment of condition of vegetation in proximity to Transmission and Distribution circuits

    • Develops site-specific vegetation maintenance prescriptions for Transmission and Distribution projects

    • Patrols power line rights-of-way, documents vegetation conditions, and recommends remedial actions

    • Identifies, documents, and marks danger trees and vegetation hazards

  • Conducts property owner notification of planned vegetation maintenance work; negotiate with landowners for permission to complete the required vegetation control work

  • Supports General foremen and vegetation maintenance crews in clarifying prescribed work

  • Performs post-work quality inspections

  • Contractor safety oversight and inspections.

  • Follows safety and operational procedures to ensure a secure and efficient work environment.

  • Follows established company policies, procedures, and standards to ensure full compliance with applicable laws and industry regulations.

  • Participates in storm restoration tasks and assigned drills to contribute to the safe and reliable recovery of services.

  • Performs additional tasks aligned with role expectations and qualifications to support team goals and operational flexibility.

Additional Job Description:

Education

  • Technical diploma, associate degree, or equivalent experience in Natural Resources, Environmental Sciences, Biology, or Agronomy.

Additional experience may substitute for required education when it aligns with the competencies and knowledge necessary for the role:

  • High School or equivalent (GED) when accompanied by a minimum of 5 years of experience performing similar functions.

Experience

  • 1–3 years of experience in vegetation management, natural resources, field operations, arboriculture, or environmental work.

  • Familiarity with vegetation management processes and vegetation maintenance practices.

Preferred:

  • Relevant experience working in the utility vegetation management industry.

Competencies (Skills)

  • Ability to work independently in a self-directed, field-based environment with strong interest in vegetation management.

  • Excellent customer communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively and professionally with property owners.

  • Comfort and proficiency using field enabled technology and digital tools to support vegetation assessments and documentation.

Licenses/Certifications
