Introduction to the job

As a HMI (Holistic Metrology and Inspection, ASML) Service engineer, you are responsible for ensuring that the inspection equipment operates reliably at the customer fab and achieves the required performance and uptime.

Role and responsibilities

The service engineer is the primary technical representative of the company at the customer site. The role combines strong technical expertise with excellent interpersonal skills to ensure high equipment performance, operational continuity, and customer satisfaction.

You are responsible for the repair and maintenance of the HMI systems at Crolles (France) from Monday-Friday. Depending on the future business needs you might be required to work shifts.

You will participate to the installation of the new HMI machines with the dedicated installation team.

You will be the local HMI expert and will develop your autonomy to :

  • Diagnose, analyze and solve technical problems

  • Ensure preventive and curative maintenance of equipment

  • Implement "software" and "hardware" updates

  • Efficiently escalate the most difficult problems to the HMI 2nd lines

  • Develop a solid relationship with the client: technical assistance, advices, support

  • Most of the work is done in a clean room environment, under strict hygiene and safety conditions.  

Regularly you will be asked to support remotely or on-site other customers equipped with a HMI machine, mainly in Belgium, Germany and Ireland with an estimated travel of 30-40% of your working time.

Working in customer support is challenging due to the changing dynamics and pressure to repair machines as quickly as possible. But the work is also very rewarding since you work directly with the customer and the impact of your solutions delivered is directly visible and the end result is always a happy customer.

Education and experience

  • You have minimally a BTS or DUT (Higher National Diploma equivalent) in an engineering field

  • You have at least 3 years of relevant experience in a hands-on role (working directly on the machine).

  • You are upper intermediate (B2) in English. Speaking French will be an added value.

Other information

You will evolve and develop within an international and multicultural group of more than 45000 employees worldwide. Extensive training will be provided abroad during 3 weeks on top of several CBT (Computer Base Training). We offer you a permanent contract.
