Position Summary
The Plant Head is responsible for the overall management and performance of a fiber manufacturing facility, providing leadership to the Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Warehouse, and Safety functions. This role is accountable for developing and executing operational strategies that achieve business objectives, meet customer demand, improve quality, optimize costs, and drive continuous improvement. The Plant Head partners with regional and global leadership to implement strategic initiatives, enhance operational excellence, and ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all daily plant operations.
  • Foster a high-performance, safety-first culture focused on continuous learning, employee engagement, accountability, and operational excellence.
  • Develop, coach, and mentor plant leadership and frontline teams while building succession and capability development plans.
  • Create and execute a comprehensive manufacturing strategy aligned with business objectives and long-term growth initiatives.
  • Translate transformation programs into plant-level initiatives that improve operational efficiency, production reliability, asset utilization, and equipment availability.
  • Lead the successful execution of major capital investment projects, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that reduce manufacturing costs, eliminate waste, and improve productivity through lean manufacturing principles.
  • Optimize fixed and variable cost structures while maintaining high standards of quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Promote collaboration and integration across Manufacturing, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, Warehouse, and Logistics functions.
  • Share operational best practices and collaborate with peer manufacturing leaders to improve regional performance.
  • Champion continuous improvement methodologies throughout all levels of the organization.
  • Ensure full compliance with environmental, health, safety, legal, and corporate governance requirements.
  • Establish strong internal controls and risk management practices to minimize operational and compliance risks.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Textile Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline (preferred).
  • Minimum of 10 years of management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • At least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Experience working within a global manufacturing organization.
  • Experience leading large manufacturing facilities and cross-functional teams.
  • Textile or fiber manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership and people management capabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Proven project and capital program management experience.
  • Strong financial and budget management skills.
  • Experience leading organizational change and transformation initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across multiple business functions.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and Operational Excellence methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and strategic planning abilities.
  • Ability to build high-performing teams and develop future leaders.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer.
  • Ability to walk throughout manufacturing facilities and access production areas.
  • Occasional standing and walking during plant inspections and operational reviews.
  • Ability to communicate effectively through speaking, listening, and visual observation in an industrial environment.
