We are looking for a detail-orientedย Executive โ Assortmentย to support assortment planning, gemstone and jewellery quality evaluation, inventory management, and production coordination within a fast-paced jewellery environment. This role is ideal for professionals with hands-on experience in gemstone assortment, diamond grading, and jewellery operations who are passionate about maintaining exceptional product quality and operational accuracy.
As an Executive โ Assortment, you will play a key role in ensuring gemstones and jewellery pieces meet quality standards before moving through the production and sales lifecycle. You will work closely with Category, Production, Procurement, Merchandising, and Sales teams to manage inventory, coordinate manufacturing activities, perform quality inspections, and maintain accurate product records. The role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a solid understanding of gemstones, diamonds, jewellery manufacturing processes, and inventory operations.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Perform gemstone assortment by classifying gemstones based on type, size, shape, colour, clarity, and quality standards.
- Conduct detailed quality inspections of gemstones, diamonds, and jewellery to ensure consistency, craftsmanship, and adherence to company specifications.
- Carry out diamond grading using standard measurement and sizing techniques while maintaining accurate grading documentation.
- Coordinate jewellery assembly and perform final quality checks before products are approved for inventory or dispatch.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams and external vendors to monitor production timelines, product specifications, and quality compliance.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, stock reconciliation, and product documentation using inventory management systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Support merchandising and marketing teams by providing accurate product information, gemstone specifications, cataloguing, and launch-related coordination.
- Track stock movement, production updates, and quality inspection reports while ensuring complete operational documentation.
- Coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth workflow across assortment, production, procurement, and sales functions.
- Follow quality control procedures, inventory standards, and operational best practices while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy across all activities.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- 2+ years of experience in gemstone assortment, jewellery merchandising, inventory operations, jewellery manufacturing, or related roles.
- Strong understanding of gemstones, diamonds, jewellery manufacturing processes, and quality evaluation techniques.
- Knowledge of diamond grading, gemstone classification, and standard sizing methodologies.
- Experience working with jewellery inventory management systems and Microsoft Excel for stock tracking and reporting.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify quality issues and maintain high product standards.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple operational priorities.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with production, merchandising, procurement, and sales teams.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced jewellery or luxury retail environment while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
- Certification or knowledge in Gemology or Diamond Grading will be an added advantage.
