About this Engineering Internship – AI Applications in Manufacturing & Quality role at Agilent Technologies
Job Description
During this internship, you will support a project focused on evaluating how AI and digital tools can be used to improve efficiency, simplify daily activities, and enhance documentation quality across manufacturing and quality processes.
Working alongside experienced engineers, you will learn how production and quality systems operate, analyze existing workflows, and contribute to identifying opportunities where digital technologies can provide value. This internship offers exposure to process improvement, technical documentation, data analysis, and project support activities while developing practical engineering and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
• Support the analysis of manufacturing and quality workflows.
• Assist in identifying repetitive and low-value-added activities.
• Evaluate potential use cases for AI and digital tools.
• Contribute to the improvement of technical documentation, including work instructions, control plans, and training records.
• Support reporting, data collection, and project tracking activities.
• Document findings, lessons learned, and improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering and Quality teams on pilot activities and process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
• Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Management Engineering, Computer Science or similar)
• Interest in digitalization and AI tools
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good English communication skills
• Hands-on attitude and willingness to work on the shopfloor and with operational teams
Internship compensation in Italy is determined based on the type of internship and the candidate's academic status. Typical monthly gross allowances are €300 for pre-graduation (curricular) internships, €700 for thesis internships, and €1,000 for recent graduate (extracurricular) internships available to individuals who have completed their studies within the previous 12 months. Compensation may vary depending on the specific internship arrangement and applicable local requirements.
