We are seeking a dynamic Engineer-II to work at our India Engineering Center campus in Bengaluru, India. The successful candidate will join the Compression Systems Engineering (CSE), Engineering Support to Operations (ESTO) Design team to provide production and field support for our Geared Turbo Fan and Operational Commercial engines. This could include components such as Fan blade, Intermediate cases, Compressor cases, Compressor blades, Vanes, etc.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and disposition non-conformances in compression system engineering.
  • Conduct technical assessments to ensure hardware meets functional and design intent.
  • Perform tolerance stack-up analyses to assess fit and functional performance.
  • Provide technical rationale, safety justification, and compliance evidence.
  • Develop repair schemes and align with stakeholders to restore design intent.
  • Develop innovative and technically sound design solutions within program schedule milestones.
  • Collaboration with multi-disciplinary Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).
  • Understand technical processes and design requirements of gas turbine hardware.
  • Learn and apply sophisticated solid modeling and analysis tools in a highly proficient manner.
  • Utilize standard work, Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and other tools to continuously improve design processes.
  • Embrace a continuous improvement philosophy.
  • Communicate with team leadership and management on status and risks to program schedule and metrics.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Master’s in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and 2+ years’ of prior relevant experience.
  • Or Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and 4+ years’ of prior relevant experience.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in design of fan blades, compressor blades/vanes, discs, casings.
  • Experience in gas turbine fields, especially in engine compression systems
  • High proficiency in Unigraphics, MS Office, Teamcenter and SAP is desired.
  • Exceptional problem solving and communication skills.
  • Significant interaction with internal and external customers is expected.
  • Communication skills and assertiveness are key qualities to possess.
  • Experienced in Siemens tools such as NX, Team Center,
  • Latest GD&T and its application on CAD models
  • ASME standards such as ASME Y14.5 – 2018, ASME Y14.41 - 2019 and other industry standards.
  • Knowledge in analysis tools such as ANSYS APDL and workbench.
  • Automated design optimization skills are a plus.
  • Candidates should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Broad understanding of hardware, drawings and manufacturing methods.
  • Green/Black Belt six sigma certification is also a plus.
