Key Responsibilities

Order Engineering (OE)

  • Develop electrical designs, schematics, SLDs, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) based on project requirements.
  • Configure and customize standard electrical solutions for customer-specific applications.
  • Support engineering calculations including load calculations, cable sizing, protection coordination, and heat dissipation analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards, customer specifications, and company design guidelines.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing, procurement, and project teams during project execution.
  • Support technical clarifications and resolve design-related issues during project implementation.

New Product Development (NPD)

  • Support concept development, prototype builds, and validation activities for new products and product enhancements.
  • Assist in translating Voice of Customer (VOC) feedback and competitive benchmarking into design improvements.
  • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, DFMEA, DFM, and design verification activities.
  • Support product testing, troubleshooting, and field validation activities.
  • Contribute to product standardization, modularization, and cost optimization initiatives.
  • Prepare engineering documentation required for stage-gate/toll-gate reviews.

Sustain Engineering

  • Support investigation and resolution of field issues in collaboration with Service and Quality teams.
  • Evaluate Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and implement approved design improvements.
  • Modify and maintain existing electrical designs to address component obsolescence, quality, and cost improvement opportunities.
  • Support product lifecycle management and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist Sales and Service teams in resolving customer-specific technical issues.

Electrical System Design & Integration

  • Design LV electrical systems including MCCs, control panels, switchgear, transformers, and power distribution systems.
  • Create electrical schematics, GA drawings, control panel layouts, terminal plans, and wiring diagrams using EPLAN / AutoCAD ELectrical.
  • Select electrical components, protection devices, cables, power supplies, PLC hardware, and control equipment.
  • Perform panel heat-load calculations and support enclosure selection.
  • Support compliance with CE, UL, IEC, EMC, and other applicable standards.
  • Promote standardized and reusable design solutions across product platforms.

Testing & Compliance

  • Support electrical testing, panel validation, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Assist in EMC and environmental testing activities and support issue resolution.
  • Prepare test plans, validation reports, and technical documentation.
  • Support certification and compliance activities for products and systems.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with global engineering teams, product management, sourcing, manufacturing, quality, and service functions.
  • Participate in design reviews and cross-functional project meetings.
  • Support prototype builds, factory testing, and commissioning activities when required.
  • Travel occasionally for customer support, product validation, and project execution activities.

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 4-6 years of experience in Electrical Design Engineering with exposure to both Order Engineering (OE) and New Product Development (NPD) projects.
  • Proficiency in EPLAN / AutoaCAD Electrical for electrical schematic and panel design.
  • Experience in MCC and control panel design using Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider, ABB, or equivalent platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of power distribution, motor controls, protection devices, switchgear, and cable sizing.
  • Experience with panel layout design, heat/load calculations, and component selection.
  • Understanding of IEC, UL, CE, and EMC requirements.
  • Working knowledge of DFMEA, design validation, root cause analysis, and engineering change management.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems and support field issue resolution.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within global cross-functional teams.

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience in the water and wastewater treatment industry.
  • Knowledge of PLC systems, VFDs, SCADA, and industrial automation.
  • Exposure to global engineering standards and compliance requirements.
  • Experience supporting EMC, FAT, SAT, or third-party certification testing.
  • Understanding of generators, ATS, UPS systems, earthing, and lightning protection.
  • Experience working in OEM product development and manufacturing environments.
