Under the general direction of the Engine Production Manager, the engine assembler is responsible for assembling engines and measuring, inspecting, and assembling components to ensure maximum operating efficiency.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Read and interpret assembly blueprints and specifications manuals and plan assembly or building operations.
  • Maintain and lubricate parts and components.
  • Inspect and prep components for assembly.
  • Set and verify critical clearances.
  • Inspect and replace damaged parts in assemblies.
  • Maintain and lubricate parts and components for assembly.
  • Verify conformance of parts to specifications using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges, and micrometers.
  • Fasten and install piping, fixtures, and components to form assemblies or subassemblies using hand tools.
  • Work with Engineering to update BOMS & Prints
  • Work closely with management to address issues and provide solutions
  • Track Support when needed
  • Train new assemblers as they are added to the group.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

  • Repairing – repairing items using needed tools and equipment.

Education/Experience:

2+ years of experience in a production or shop environment is required. Requires working knowledge of basic mechanical skills and competencies. Must have a proven track record of building race engines. Must possess a sound understanding of internal combustion engines.

Certificates and Licenses:

   Valid Driver’s License

Computer Skills:

Requires basic computer skills.

Communication Skills:

Must possess strong communication skills and an excellent sense of customer satisfaction, communicating with other departments, and perform work as timely and precisely as possible.

Attendance Expectations:

The position requires regular and predictable attendance.  Scheduled shifts may include evening hours, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Demands:

Requires vision (near, distance, depth) and ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – safety glasses. Constantly manually manipulates. Frequently stands, walks, sits, reaches outward, lifts/carries up to 50 pounds, and pushes/pull up to 40 pounds. Occasionally reaches above shoulder, climbs, crawls, squats or kneels, bends, lifts/carries over 100 pounds, and pushes/pulls up to 100 pounds.

Environment Demands:

Primarily works indoors.

Verbal and Writing Ability:

Basic verbal and writing skills required. Ability to create and Interpret technical documentation.

Math Ability:

Basic math skills required.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations.
