As part of our Customs Team, you’ll play a vital role in every phase of a project, from early schematic designs to final submissions to manufacturing. Your work will combine artistry and engineering, delivering detailed drawings that include all dimensions and specifications needed to bring our innovative designs to reality. Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Utilize CAD software to create, modify, and optimize detailed drawings and layouts of custom saunas for Sunlighten customers.
  • Develop routine layouts, detail drawings, assembly drawings, sketches, and diagrams for various custom sauna designs.
  • Actively participate in and maintain frequent communication with various departments on all project phases, collaborating closely with sales representatives, engineers, and other team members to translate conceptual designs into practical and manufacturable drawings.
  • Assist in early schematic design by providing input and creating initial drafts to explore design options and feasibility.
  • Generate comprehensive technical drawings that include all necessary views, dimensions, annotations, and specifications to guide manufacturing processes.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date documentation of design revisions, ensuring that all versions are readily accessible to the team.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of engineering terminology and principles to effectively communicate with engineers and other team members.
  • Utilize basic mathematical calculations to verify measurements, dimensions, and tolerances in drawings.
  • Provide technical support and clarifications to manufacturing and assembly teams during the production phase to resolve any design-related issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in drafting, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • 2 or more years of experience using industrial design related programs - Solidworks highly preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong mathematical skills for accurate calculations.
  • Must reside in/be willing to commute to the Leawood, KS area.

Compensation:

The salary for this position is $60,000 per year, with the opportunity to earn additional bonuses based on company performance and revenue.
