About this DIT/Production Assistant role at doTERRA

doTERRA · Onsite · Pleasant Grove, UT

At doTERRA we encourage all employees to seek out opportunities that will expand their skill set. We strive to help achieve personal career goals by providing opportunities of growth and movement throughout the company.

About the Role

dōTERRA Studio is the in-house production environment for stills and motion at dōTERRA, producing the imagery and video that defines how our products are seen by millions of people around the world. We are looking for a DIT Assistant to be the connective tissue between the camera, the client, and the deliverable, on set and off, across every shoot the studio runs.

This is a production and media-focused role, not a color science role. You will own video village setup, card running, shot organization, uploads, and client visibility, so the Director of Photography can stay heads-down in capture and selects. If you love the operational side of a set, the kind of person who notices a card hasn’t come back yet or a client hasn’t opened the gallery, this seat is for you.

What We’re Looking For

Required

  • 1–3 years of production experience on stills, motion, or hybrid sets (assisting, PA work, internships, or studio production roles).
  • Comfort with on-set media workflows: card handling, offloading, backup verification, and chain of custody.
  • Working understanding of video village fundamentals, including monitor setup, false color, and basic exposure reading.
  • Familiarity with at least one DAM platform and asset tagging workflows.
  • Strong organizational skills and a documentation-first mindset; if it isn’t logged, it didn’t happen.
  • Comfort working directly with clients and stakeholders in a calm, professional, service-oriented way.
  • Pace, presence, and the ability to anticipate the next move before being asked.
  • This role may include local and international travel to support on-location shoots, events, and brand productions. A valid passport (or willingness to obtain one) is required.

Nice to Have

  • Experience on commercial product or brand sets.
  • Familiarity with Asana for production tracking and stakeholder communication.
  • Working knowledge of Capture One sessions and tethered stills workflows.
  • Basic understanding of color spaces, LUTs, and look files (helpful, but not required).
  • Experience supporting hybrid stills and motion shoots in a single production day.

Who You Are

  • You’re the person who notices the card hasn’t come back yet, the client hasn’t opened the gallery, the tag is missing on one asset out of two hundred.
  • You take ownership. You don’t wait to be asked. If the cart needs power or the client needs a chair, you’re already moving.
  • You’re calm under pressure. Sets move fast, plans change, and you absorb it without breaking rhythm.
  • You’re service-minded. You enjoy making clients feel taken care of, and you can read a room.
  • You’re organized to the point of being annoying about it, in the best possible way.
  • You’re humble and collaborative. dōTERRA Studio runs on trust and good energy. You add to both.

On-Set Responsibilities

Video Village

  • Set up and break down the video village cart, including monitors, cabling, power, and signal routing.
  • Use false color and other exposure tools to verify lighting before and during takes.
  • Host clients at the cart: keep them comfortable, oriented, and confident in what they are seeing.
  • Anticipate client questions and flag concerns to the Director of Photography in real time.

Shot Organization & Set Awareness

  • Maintain working knowledge of every product, SKU, and setup planned for each shoot day.
  • Track which products and setups have been shot, and which are still on the call sheet.
  • When cards are returned, be able to clearly account for the setups and products captured on each one.
  • Keep a clean, real-time record of the day’s coverage so nothing falls through the cracks between locations or setups.

Card Running & Media Handling

  • Pull cards after every location or setup change so the Digital Asset Manager can begin cutting selects on set.
  • Offload and back up media following the studio’s established protocols (primary, backup, and verification).
  • Maintain chain of custody on every card from camera to offload station; cards do not sit in pockets or get misplaced.
  • Support the goal of having dailies ready by the time the crew leaves set.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Uploads & Asset Management

  • Upload finalized assets to the studio’s DAM with correct tagging and, where applicable, file naming.
  • Create and maintain a clean paper trail in Asana for every shoot: card receipt, offload, upload, and delivery milestones.
  • Follow the studio’s metadata and tagging conventions so assets are findable by product, campaign, and shoot date.
  • Flag any gaps in the workflow (missing tags, incomplete uploads, broken naming) before they reach stakeholders.

Client Visibility & Delivery

  • Check in with clients immediately after shoots to confirm they have access to footage and images.
  • Monitor for any lag, missing access, or delivery friction; surface it quickly and help drive it to resolution.
  • Serve as a clear, friendly point of contact for internal stakeholders on delivery and access questions.
  • Close the loop on every shoot: confirm assets received, accessible, and acknowledged.
