We are seeking a strategic Director of Technical Training to own and evolve our Learning Initiatives Scalability and Training program Operations. You will lead the design and deliver high-impact engineering talent development programs, while strategically building scalable frameworks to enable effective and sustainable training delivery across the engineering organization.
The role combines process optimization, technical mentorship, and delivery assurance to drive training operational excellence and superior technical output across Factored.
You will operate with an owner mentality, proactively identifying execution gaps, driving the design of training solutions, driving the creation of training team performance metrics, and iterating on delivery processes. You will also collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with client expectations and the high "Factored Bar" for quality.
Functional Responsibilities:

Strategic Training Leadership
- Own the strategy, planning, and execution of the organization’s technical training portfolio across all engineering training programs.
- Lead the direction of the Technical Training function by aligning training priorities with business goals, customer demand, workforce readiness, and emerging trends in the AI and Data landscape.
- Analyze market trends, customer feedback, and organizational capability gaps to continuously evolve training programs and learning pathways.
- Partner closely with Delivery, Engineering, Talent, Operations, and Revenue leadership to align training initiatives with workforce planning, deployment readiness, and business needs.
Training Operations & Delivery
- Design and scale Training Operations by leveraging the Technical Training team, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), platforms, and organizational resources.
- Ensure high-quality delivery across all training programs by proactively managing risks, resolving operational challenges, and driving execution excellence.
- Own training capacity planning, instructor allocation, resource management, and milestone delivery.
- Provide clear visibility to stakeholders regarding training priorities, execution, risks, and progress.
Measurement & Business Impact
- Establish measurement frameworks and dashboards to evaluate training effectiveness, instructor impact, trainee performance, engagement, and training ROI.
- Develop feedback loops that integrate customer insights, market demand, and training outcomes into curriculum development and program execution.
- Continuously improve learning programs based on performance metrics, participant feedback, business outcomes, and evolving organizational needs.
Cross-Functional Partnership & Organizational Influence
- Partner cross-functionally with Revenue and Operations teams to position training programs as drivers of brand awareness, lead generation, customer engagement, and talent attraction.
- Influence organizational capability-building strategies by aligning business priorities with scalable technical learning initiatives.
Team Leadership & Organizational Development
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing Technical Training organization, fostering a culture of operational excellence, innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Coach and develop instructors, SMEs, and training leaders to ensure quality, scalability, and consistency across learning initiatives.
- Drive continuous improvement through scalable processes, operational rigor, and training best practices.
Budget & Resource Management
- Own training investment planning and resource allocation to maximize scalability, business impact, and return on investment.
Qualifications:

Mandatory
- 15+ years of combined professional experience across the Tech and Academia sectors, with a consistent track record of professional growth, increasing leadership responsibility, and successfully leading and developing high-performing training teams.
- Excellent and fluent communication in english, C1 Level.
Technical Mastery & AI Strategy
- AI/ML and data Fluency: Exposure to the AI lifecycle, Data Engineering and Awareness of how AI is integrated with current technology stack.
- General fluency with software development lifecycle, understanding of the mechanics of how software technology is deployed in a production environment.
Instructional Design & Educational Leadership
- Skill Assessment & Benchmarking: Demonstrated ability to design rigorous technical assessments and certification paths to validate "deployment-readiness" for client-facing projects.
- Mentorship Frameworks: Success in building "Train-the-Trainer" initiatives, scaling knowledge transfer across a global or distributed engineering workforce.
Strategic Business & Operational Excellence
- ROI-Driven Upskilling: Ability to define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as Time-to-Productivity (TTP), training ROI, and internal NPS.
- Capacity & Pipeline Planning: Skilled in forecasting talent "inventory," ensuring the training pipeline aligns perfectly with upcoming project demands and sales forecasts.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Experience acting as a bridge between Sales/Product (to understand client needs) and HR/Recruiting (to define hiring profiles).
- Resource Management: Proven track record in managing educational budgets, third-party vendor relationships, and internal knowledge management systems.
Leadership & Professional Influence
- Change Management: Exceptional adaptability to lead a team through the rapid, often weekly, iterations of the AI industry. Working cross-functionally with our engineering team to introduce learning initiatives that can give Factored Talent a competitive advantage before new trends emerge.
- Executive Communication: Ability to translate complex technical training progress into high-level strategic insights for C-suite stakeholders and clients.

- Strategic Scouting: An analytical eye for identifying "hidden gem" candidates who possess the foundational logic to be successfully upskilled into AI roles.
Nice to Have
- Experience in consulting or client-facing environments, with a proven ability to build technical proposals and manage high-stakes client relationships.
- Agentic Systems Fluency: Exposure to modern AI orchestration frameworks, including the design and implementation of agents, tool-calling logic (MCP/function calling), and the underlying architectural components necessary for autonomous, multi-step execution.
- Curriculum Architecture: Experience in building Project-Based Learning (PBL) frameworks and technical curricula tailored for high-level engineering talent.
