Corporate Lending Manager

This is a senior lending role within the front office of ING Dublin. The Corporate Lending team in ING Dublin is a sector focused team that covers a global portfolio of some of the largest corporations in the world which provides excellent exposure for the Corporate Lending Manager to senior management in ING and the opportunity to work on high profile event-driven M&A lending transactions.

The Corporate Lending Manager advises, structures and executes on high profile large corporate lending transactions, but also assists in executing limit approvals for other teams in ING, primarily Financial Markets (e.g. hedging limits) and/or Transaction Services products (e.g. cash management) to provide products tailored to customer requirements.

The team
We cover clients in key economic markets across the United States, United Kingdom, Middle East, Nordic Region, Switzerland, Turkey as well as the domestic Irish market. Key sector coverage is across Commodity Food & Agri, Energy, Industrials, Services, Retail, TMT, Healthcare, Building Materials and Transport & Logistics.

The Corporate Lending Manager will collaborate with our sector-focused client relationship managers to screen prospect clients, perform the credit due diligence, assign internal credit risk ratings, writing the credit application, negotiating on documentation for new lending transactions as well as all monitoring tasks (e.g. period credit reviews) for a portfolio of clients.


Roles and responsibilities


Managing a portfolio of global corporate clients with a focus on origination and execution of new, complex, and large lending transactions.

  • Take the lead on the origination and execution of complex lending transactions in partnership key stakeholders including the Relationship Managers, Loan Syndications team, Credit Risk Management, and Capital Markets & Advisory.

  • Performing commercial and credit analysis on potential lending opportunities within your assigned portfolio which includes both qualitative and quantitative due diligence and appropriate financial analysis and stress testing.

  • End to end execution of the transaction according to policy and present the credit proposal for approval to relevant approval mandate holders.

  • Documentation due diligence in collaboration with inhouse Legal Department or external Legal Counsel.

  • In life management and on-going monitoring of assigned portfolio including timely group reviews, monitoring financial reports, market trends, regulations, and early warning signs that may impact the client and or portfolio.

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in the financial sector, preferably in a corporate credit role;

  • Working knowledge of capital markets transactions;

  • Proficient in financial and credit analysis;

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills;

  • Capable of working independently;

  • Experience in the documentation (and due diligence) process involved in transactions completion;
