Job Description
The purpose of this role is to provide an efficient and effective service for the Compliance function which contributes to business growth and strategy realisation.Key responsibilities will include amongst others the following:
Documentation Processing:
- Functions as a subject matter expert in the field of administration/product/process.
- Often acts as a consultant with regards to decision-making of operational and/or tactical importance.
- Often acts as a point of escalation for matters with high level of complexity.
- Could be accountable for maintaining and improvement of Standard Operating Procedures.
- Recommends system and process enhancements.
- Could be accountable for testing enhancements to systems.
- Coaches specialist staff.
- Could act as an expert on major projects.
Operational Delivery:
- Manages daily operational (client service and or administrative) delivery within specific functional area and service levels.
- Accountable for technical decision making within a specific functional area.
- Could take accountability for the implementation of a strand of an operational project.
- Liaises with customers and advisors on complex compliance matters, both telephonically and via email.
- Work across teams where resources are required.
Personal Effectiveness:
- Accepts and lives the company values.
- Accountable for service delivery through own efforts.
- Collaborates effectively with others to achieve personal results.
- Individually accountable for managing own time, tasks and output quality for periods of 1 day to a maximum of 3 months.
- Makes increased contributions by broadening individual skills.
Quality Assurance:
- Adheres to service and quality standards.
- Performs quality checks on own work.
- Could be accountable for peer review/quality checks on the work of others.
Qualifications and Experience required:
- Matric.
- Undergraduate degree with some coursework in law; law degree or paralegal certificate.
- Completed or partly studied towards a degree or Diploma that included mercantile/company law (advantageous).
- Minimum of 1-3 years working experience in Financial Services.
- Analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication (verbal & written) interactive skills.
- Strong delivery focus.
- Ability and desire to understand and apply company documentation, involving extensive reading and interpretation of legal documents.
- Ability to work in a team and independently.
