Who You Are

Fellow is looking for a Compliance Engineer to oversee global regulatory compliance and market access for our products. This role is based in Shenzhen, Foshan or Guangzhou, China.

Reporting to the VP of Operations & Quality, you will oversee full-lifecycle product compliance covering safety, EMC and regional regulatory requirements for China, EU, UK and US markets, stay on top of global standard updates, issue timely compliance alerts, mitigate NPI and mass production compliance risks, and drive standardized internal compliance implementation and robust risk control.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage full-process product compliance throughout the entire lifecycle, covering regulatory research, pre-development design review, test plan formulation, certification, third-party partner relationship management, and post-launch risk maintenance to sustain stable global market compliance.
  • Stay on top of evolving global compliance standards including UL&IEC safety requirements, with specialized expertise in EMC. Timely review the latest regulatory briefings and updates released by Intertek, SGS and other accredited certification partners.
  • Sort out region-specific compliance requirements for North America,  EU, UK, APAC & GCC markets, assess product and business impacts, and issue timely compliance alerts to relevant teams. Interpret regulatory provisions, convert external new rules into executable internal standards, and provide clear compliance guidance and implementation directions for cross-functional teams.
  • Participate in full-stage new product development reviews and intervene early in the NPI phase to identify potential design compliance risks in advance. Conduct comprehensive compliance verification on product circuits, structures, components, materials, accessories, labels and user manuals, and propose optimization recommendations to eliminate design regulatory risks before mass production and launch.
  • Collaborate closely with CM factory safety and compliance teams to unify design specifications and verify test implementation. Align compliance requirements with factories, labs and internal teams via timely communication and joint discussions. Conduct regular compliance inspections and risk assessments for design and production processes, track and rectify non-compliant issues, and implement full closed-loop risk management to ensure mass production meets global regulatory standards.
  • Review and verify supplier test reports, certification credentials and technical files to ensure document validity, completeness and traceability, supporting smooth global market access for products.
  • Efficiently resolve product non-compliance incidents, work with electronics engineers to develop targeted rectification solutions, and build standardized long-term preventive mechanisms to avoid recurring compliance risks.
  • Build and maintain complete, standardized compliance archives including test reports, certificates, technical files, declarations of conformity and risk assessment records. Synchronously update compliance-related content in internal project documents, manage compliance changes caused by product iterations and engineering updates, and sustain stable compliance performance for mass-produced products.
  • Cooperate with R&D, Quality and Sales teams to resolve daily compliance issues. Communicate and follow up with third-party labs and certification partners, fully prepare for government inspections and third-party compliance audits, and support customer audit activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in electronic engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, quality management or other related majors.
  • 10+ years working experience in product compliance, preferably in consumer electronics or home appliance manufacturing.
  • Familiar with mainstream global certification standards, UL&IEC safety standard, specialize in EMC area, skilled in product compliance review, testing and certification processes; able to independently identify compliance risks and propose effective solutions.
  • Strong preference for candidates with experience in AC powered consumer products or appliances that have shipped to the EU
  • Experience with RoHS, REACH, and FDA food-contact material compliance regulations is a plus.
  • Business-proficient English in both speaking and writing. Able to accurately interpret global regulatory clauses and analyze English technical documents.
  • Detail-oriented, responsible and logical. Possess good cross-team communication and coordination skills, able to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure.
