About this Compensation Intern role at First Student
The Compensation Intern supports the Compensation and Total Rewards team through data analysis, market research, reporting, and administrative activities. This role provides hands-on exposure to compensation programs, salary benchmarking, job evaluations, and HR analytics while helping ensure accurate and competitive pay practices across the organization.
Major Responsibilities
- Assist with compensation analysis, salary benchmarking, and market pricing activities.
- Compile, analyze, and report on compensation and workforce data to support business decisions.
- Support job evaluations, job description reviews, and compensation-related projects.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and spreadsheets for compensation planning and reporting.
- Maintain compensation data, records, and documentation while ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
Desired Skills & Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Language Requirement
This role requires English proficiency. Federal, state, and local requirements, including U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, require training, safety communications, company policies, employment documents, and other job-related communications be conducted in English.
