A+S is seeking a Commissioning Specialist to join our Commissioning and Sustainability Services (CSS) team. Commissioning team members enjoy a mix of office and jobsite activities.
Responsibilities
- Manage commissioning system administration, including issue logs, checklists, test documentation, and project records.
- Develop commissioning checklists and pre-functional/startup documentation based on design drawings, specifications, and approved submittals.
- Perform jobsite inspections and witness, document, and assist in directing functional performance testing of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and controls systems.
- Maintain commissioning documentation, deficiency logs, meeting notes, test results, and closeout records.
- Review project design drawings, Basis of Design, owners project requirements, specifications, controls sequences, and equipment submittals for commissioning-related requirements and constructability.
- Coordinate commissioning activities with project managers, design teams, contractors, controls vendors, and facility personnel.
- Identify, document, track, and verify resolution of commissioning issues and deficiencies.
- Assist with preparation of commissioning reports, functional test procedures, progress updates, and final commissioning documentation.
- Travel locally and occasionally overnight as needed (up to 25% depending on projects).

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or similar Engineering Degree.
- Working knowledge of commissioning fundamentals, ability to independently execute assigned tasks, and willingness to learn and apply A+S commissioning procedures and best practices.
- 2 to 4 years' relevant commissioning, MEP construction, controls, or building systems experience.
- Reliable transportation for travel to jobsites.
- Ability to climb a ladder, walk on uneven terrain, and otherwise work safely on a construction site (ANSI safety toe shoes or work boots will be needed).
- HVAC, Plumbing, and/or Electrical Controls experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of Commissioning management software, such as Blue Rhythm, Cx Alloy or Facility Grid a plus.
- CxA, CBCP, or other relevant commissioning certification a plus.
