What a College Intern - Data Science does at HP:
Work with an enterprising team of engineers to digitally accelerate operations and provide solutions to track, analyze and visualize the manufacturing operations and outbound quality of our products.
Design, build and maintain data infrastructure, pipelines and architecture to support data-driven initiatives.
Develop data models, create robust processes and ensure data quality and security.
Ability to work with AWS tools, such as S3, SageMaker, Lambda, Glue and Redshift.
Create and maintain high-quality documentation for systems, processes, codebases and workflows.
Generate actionable insights through the analysis of data and understanding of operational processes.
Develop methodologies for optimizing our business processes through data visualization, real-time monitoring, predictive analytics etc.
Individuals who do well in this role at HP, usually possess:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Industrial Engineering.
Able to commit for a 5-6 months full-time internship, starting in January 2027.
Strong programming knowledge in languages such as Python or Java and expertise with SQL databases.
Analytical thinking, ability to understand operations processes and interested in performing root cause analysis for effective problem solving.
Possesses knowledge in statistics and probability.
Good visualization skills in creating real-time dashboards and charts, ability to highlight trends and provide insights.
