CNC Steel Fabrication Machine Operator
Location: Ashland, VA
Shift: 1st Shift
Starting Pay: $20/hour (Higher pay available based on experience)
Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced CNC Machine Operator with a background in structural steel fabrication. This role involves operating CNC equipment, working from technical drawings, performing quality checks, and supporting daily production.
Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC equipment, including combination mill/lathe and drill line machines.
Produce structural steel components according to blueprints, schematics, and work orders.
Adjust machine settings to maintain accurate and efficient production.
Use hand and power tools for machining and assembly tasks.
Inspect completed work to verify dimensions and structural specifications.
Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform basic machine maintenance.
Enter production information and maintain records in Global Shop (ERP system).
Follow workplace safety procedures and work effectively with the production team.
Qualifications
Previous experience in structural steel fabrication required.
Experience operating CNC equipment, specifically combination mill/lathe and drill line machines.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Proficient with hand and power tools.
Strong computer skills; Global Shop or similar ERP experience preferred.
Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
Able to work independently and maintain quality standards.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and remain on your feet for extended periods.
