Job Description

Job Description

Develop compelling CMF concepts, visual narratives, and presentations to communicate design intent to global and cross-functional stakeholders.

Define and execute CMF direction across multiple product categories, ensuring alignment with brand strategy, product goals, and manufacturing capabilities.

Create detailed CMF specifications, standards, and documentation to support product development and mass production.

Partner closely with Industrial Design, Engineering, Product Management, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to ensure accurate implementation of CMF intent throughout development and production.

Work directly with suppliers and manufacturing partners in China to develop, evaluate, and qualify new materials, finishes, coatings, and manufacturing processes.

Review prototypes, engineering builds, and production samples to ensure color, material, and finish quality meets design intent, resolving issues through close collaboration with suppliers.

Conduct supplier and factory visits to support material development, color approvals, production readiness, and quality execution.

Manage and maintain the CMF library, including material samples, color standards, finish references, supplier documentation, and development archives.

Research emerging materials, manufacturing technologies, and consumer trends to identify opportunities for future CMF innovation.

Build and maintain strong working relationships with regional suppliers to expand material capabilities and improve development efficiency.

Skills

CMF Design or equivalent experience

Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile team

3+ years of experience

Tuning samples to achieve tight color matching, must have high color acuity

Review and approve samples for color and finish

Vendor management experience

Monitor trials on site and support with inspections of the samples and advise on how to improve them

Expertise in CMF technologies, diverse material knowledge and material properties

Strong communication and organization skills

Good written and verbal language skills, English and Mandarin

Must use Adobe CC, Microsoft Office, and Keyshot

Experience in operating spectrophotometers

Experiences in consumer electronics industry or automotive industry is preferred
