Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement automated, continuous backups of Azure IoT Hub device registry and device twin state.
  • Store backup data securely in Azure Blob Storage.
  • Develop automation to ensure reliable and consistent backup processes.
  • Implement and test disaster recovery procedures for the Azure IoT Hub environment.
  • Create operational disaster recovery runbooks and technical documentation.
  • Plan and execute complete device state restoration drills in a development environment.
  • Validate the successful restoration of device registry and twin state as part of the acceptance criteria.
  • Support monitoring and operational visibility of backup and recovery processes.
  • Collaborate with cloud, DevOps, backend and IoT engineering teams to ensure platform resilience.
  • Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Cloud or DevOps Engineer in Microsoft Azure environments.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Azure IoT Hub.
  • Experience with Azure Storage / Blob Storage.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Strong automation skills and an automation-oriented mindset.
  • Practical experience designing or implementing backup and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Experience creating operational DR runbooks and recovery procedures.
  • Experience with monitoring and operational dashboards.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Advantages:

  • Previous experience with Azure IoT Hub disaster recovery.
  • Experience working with IoT platforms or edge environments.
  • Knowledge of Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with Terraform, Bicep or ARM templates.
  • Experience with Python, PowerShell or Bash scripting.
  • Experience performing recovery drills or business continuity testing.
  • Knowledge of Azure security and identity management.
