In this role, no two days are alike. You’ll have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of stakeholders, influence positive closure outcomes for inactive and abandoned energy sites, and contribute to a regulatory program that helps return lands to equivalent capability while supporting public confidence in the energy industry.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Manage communications with requesters, licensees, and internal stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with technical experts across the organization, respond to inquiries from industry and the public, track program performance and timelines.

  • Provide guidance and education on Closure Nomination Program requirements and processes.

What we’re looking for in you:

  • 5+ years of related work experience, working with stakeholders, complaints and associated administrative processes.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, science, legal studies or arts.

  • Knowledge of energy development, specifically closure and liability in Alberta.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills including experience with external stakeholders, public speaking, and delivering presentations.

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel and Power BI) as well as data management and analysis and experience with Tableau.

  • Experience in the use of AER databases and systems, specifically OneStop.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage varying responsibilities, conflicting priorities, and deliver results in a deadline driven environment.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or conflict resolution certification is an asset.

  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.

Additional Information:

  • All applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada at the time of application.

  • Should an individual with the required qualifications not be available, applicants with closely related qualifications may be considered. As a result, the position may be redesigned and/or reclassified.

  • If you need accommodation during any stage of the recruitment process, please email [email protected]. Information relating to the need for accommodation and accommodation measures will be addressed confidentially.

What we offer you:

  • Opportunity to make a difference and be part of a performance driven team that is responsible for the efficient, safe, orderly, and environmentally responsible development of Alberta’s energy and mineral resources.

  • The ability to leverage your expertise and critical thinking skills to contribute in wide-ranging, challenging, and complex work.

  • Flexible work options and hours, aligned with organizational policies.
